Why I might vote for Barack Obama

Rather than violate the rules and make stupid insults, how about disproving my statement

Disprove what statement? That you hate Obama because he nominated a Jew? That's OK dude, I fully believe that you're telling the truth.

If I'm going to vote for one of the two parties, it would be Barack Obama. Despite the fact that I disagree fervently with both parties on separate issues, I just might break down and vote for the president. The simple reason is because of trust. When all is said and done, I believe Obama (despite his failings) is more genuine and sincere.

There's something about Mitt Romney that reminds me strongly of Richard Nixon.

LOL. Obama's number one campaign promise thru all of 2008 was that he absolutely would not sign renewal of the Bush tax cuts. For them to expire, all he had to do was nothing. If he wanted to maintain middle class tax cuts, he had the senate and house to do so. Instead, he endorsed renewing them. NOW he is running on the exact same issue in 1212. Oh, he also is again promising to close GITMO like in 2008, which would have only taken his signature to do as commander-in-chief.

And you believe him? ROFL.

none-but having dealt with most of the anti gun organizations its not anti semitic to note that they have a huge percentage of Jewish members. and to claim I am anti semitic or a sociopath is nothing more than the sign of someone who cannot rationally rebut my posts

Well I could say some things that would be perceived as more anti-Semitic and stereotypical but I will leave it politely as the Jewish people I have met seem to have a particular distaste for guns and the why's of that I shall keep to myself.

what a stupid comment. I pushed for one of my best friends in college to be appointed to the USSC by Bush. Peter Keisler. look him up, he's Jewish. What he also is was the founder of the FEDERALIST SOCIETY, so stuff your anti semitic nonsense . I guess you are doing what many lefties do when they cannot argue a point-accuse those they disagree with with being racist or anti semitic

Wow, what a shock. You found yet another way to tell an internet message board how wonderful and well-connected you are. You must have such high self-esteem.

So then his being Jewish had no bearing on his views on gun rights, then? But Obama wants to grab your guns because, hey, he nominated a Jew after all, and we all know how grabby they get around guns. Why, it's ALMOST like you just selectively use nasty anti-semitic stereotypes for partisan reasons!

I don't know, that's why I asked.

Are you going to pay more for your medical insurance? Or not?

Don't know right now I do know I am hit with a surcharge on FICA due to it

The individual mandate tax is only the newest in a long list of new Obamacare taxes, including a new 0.9% surtax on Medicare taxes for those making $200,000 or more ($250,000 joint) plus a new Obamacare 3.8% surtax on “investment income” for those in the same income categories. This added tax affects dividends, interest, rent, capital gains, annuities, home sales, partnerships, etc.

that is a rather large tax hike when investment income rate which is 15% now

OK. I don't consider myself to be a Libertarian. I'm voting for Johnson as a protest of the 2 major party choices, neither of which appears to be of any real use.

So, I think you have told me you are a Libertarian but you think Obama is the better choice among the 3 options. That's reasonable.

No more than you, a libertarian. A vote to a candidate does not dictate my entire philosophical and/or ideological belief set.

I realize this is a stereotype but his second, a liberal jewish lesbian who worked for Harvard is not exactly someone I'd pick as an NRA supporter

It's a stereotype AND a lie. Kagan is not gay.

I find myself agreeing strongly with many libertarian principles so I wouldn't see it as a big jump to vote Obama for you considering Obama has a lot of socially free policies that are in line with true libertarians.

How do you know this?

I know this because many people who are friends of hers and who went to school with her have stated publicly that she is straight and has dated multiple men over the years.

Why don't you ask Turtle to defend his claim that she's a lesbian? He can't because there is no evidence that she is.

I certainly don't trust Obama. I didn't trust him from the moment that he ran on "hope and change" without a single plan to offer in 2008. His extension of the Bush tax cuts, rather than making his own plan, just showed me further that he had nothing to offer. His misuse of the intent of the Lilly Ledbetter law he signed, claiming it was for women, when it all reality, that is a half truth at best. And the fact that he signed it in 2 days after he took over, breaking a huge promise that he wouldn't do that, he made during his campaign. I could go on and on. And then someone could come back and throw Bush's name out there, but in all honesty Bush was not "watching the house" during his last 4 years. It wasn't entirely his fault because it wasn't something that developed just during his presidency, but he should have nipped it in the bud and he didn't, and that is his fault. That being said, I am voting for Romney, not because I think he doesn't lie (he and Obama have both been proven to lie tremendously) and not because I trust him entirely (I don't truth either of them entirely) but because I trust him more than I do Obama. And because I want at least some of the Obamacare policies stopped, I realize that Romney won't end all of them. I do have insurance, but the more regulations placed on my insurance company is going to drive up my rates. And as we all know, not one single insurance company is going to pay for any of the new regulations, the consumer will pay for it, as usual. So, I am not sure that I really want "better healthcare". I want affordable healthcare, and to be honest with you, I don't think that Obamacare is going to keep my insurance rates all that affordable to me.

I read the article and it seems to state that these taxes or penalties or whatever you call them are imposed if you don't buy health insurance. I'm assuming you do through your firm. So, YOU have not had a tax increase.

The 3.8% surtax on rent I don't understand. I thought that rent was ordinary income. Are you sure about this?

I didn't know about the 0.9% increase. So self employed will pay 4.7% instead of 3.8% from the first dollar or all in excess of some level. Is this law or a proposal? Is it in effect now or do you assume this will be made law? I don't expect a very cooperative Congress so most likely the Bush rates will get kicked down the road for now. I suppose.....

Oh my.

Let's see. Obama hangs with Bill Ayers, Frau Dohrn, Rezko, has a mentor named Rev Wright who gives Farrakhan a lifetime achievement award and hates America. But Obama doesn't know these people, and he never heard Rev. Wright's dog & pony show. OK.

Obama after Scott Brown (R) is voted in in MA (Dead Kennedy's seat) uses parliamentary tricks to pass the biggest hunk of dung on America... a piece of legislature Pelosi said we need to read after passing it!!!

Obama runs guns (Fast & Furious) and gets an American border agent killed, as well as scores of Mexicans... all in a perverted effort to sway gun legislation. Obama exerts executive privilege.

Obama and his administration lies about how 4 Americans die in Libya, point to a video that caused no ruckus... endanger the film maker's life and light a match to the Mid east powder keg. Obama & Co. continue to lie about Libya.

Oh YEAH Baby... that is one trustworthy dude.

PS. NO AMERICANS DIED DURING WATERGATE.

But go vote for Obama. We need more decay, and he has shown he is more than capable of delivering it.

As Milton Friedman would say, "and what is your alternative?" If I resort to voting for the lesser of two evils, the evidence suggests Obama is more tolerable to Romney.

As I said, I'm a little worried that Johnson is doing this to pay off his republican campaign debt. I do, however, agree with the majority of his positions. As the state of Virginia continues to grow red in color, my vote will lean more toward the alternative party (GJ 2012). But if you can make a difference in a swing state, let it be known that the parties do show differences (as much as we argue the opposite) in foreign and domestic policy.
