I thought the AK 47 was legal in California, but 30-round magazines for it were not. They're limited to 10. Check a gun store in California. They would know for sure.

Will do ASAP. That sounds very familiar what you are saying. I'm fairly certain it's only semi-autos allowed. Once I do I'll be sure to post what they say.

Virtually all AK47's sold in the US to private citizens are semi-auto only, without any sort of full auto or selective fire capacity.

That is correct, "virtually" meaning there is one exception, which is a pre-automatic ban one made before 1986. However, if you find one of those, expect to pay an arm and a leg for it.

There is also what I call "pseudo-automatic." That's not an official term, but one I made up myself. It's a rapid fire feature by use of a bump fire stock. There's one known as the "Bumpski" and there's another one named Slide Fire. Basically the stock slides from recoil and bumps, making that inertia pull the trigger for you quickly so that the gun fires as if it were automatic. I personally like the Bumpski one the best. It's more expensive, but to me it looks like better quality. I intend to install one on my AK when I get it. Here's a video.
