Another Obama "success"

another disgrace of the Obama Presidency..

This is what happens when you try and command the economy.

I hope they don't go out of business. I use their products in some RC equioment.

every day there is new one. Worst president in US history, Jimmy Carter is a happy man.

I agree... Carter looks better and better each day when compared to Obama's record..

Ryobi could buy it.

Make one heck of a cordless drill.

Wow, 2 out of 29 companies. What an epic failure!? I'm glad you didn't grade my homework in college. In the mean time could you share the name of your portfolio manager? I've been looking to get into some high yield zero risk investments.:doh

something about "picking losers".....where did I hear that recently....

Its just a matter of time before the others follow suit. They cannot make money in this industry. Maybe some day, but not now and not with MY tax money. When this becomes a viable industry entreprenuers will be all into it. The govt cannot make something successful by just throwing money at it.

So now you're blaming Obama for something that hasn't even happened yet? I agree he's trying to promote green energy the wrong way through top down economics, instead of giving tax credits to people who purchase green energy technology

These may be bad, but expected. Perhaps i am just desensitized from our last president. Ruining a surplus and sending us into a depression. 2 wars which we are still paying for. 3000 US civilian casualties and the worst attack on US soil ever. Promoting the housing bubble. near fatally wounding the US auto industry. Failing to catch the world's biggest enemy in 7 years. Allowing huge security warnings to go unheard resulting in 9/11. Destabilizing the middle east. Pissing off the entire world. Promoting the growth and prosperity of china. It seems that he might have even boosted russia up to being our biggest enemy again, but only Miott and company say that so it may be a lie.

Yeah, in light of those disasters an electric car battery manufacturer going bankrupt when the auto industry is doing everything it can to keep cars running on gasoline doesn't seem to be all that impressive on the failure scale. But maybe you guys had family who worked for thaty company and that is really important to you. I can tell you being fired or having a family member fired is nothing to having friends, family, or you personally dieing in a huge fireball and collapsing skyscrapers in NYC. Just from a person who knows. I think most of them would have preferred a layoff. Good luick finding a new job. t least you won't have to worry about those pesky lingering health effects of breathing in dead burnt bodies like the first responders have.

He is not the worst president this century or even last century, or do i need to get into the reagan recession, trickle down economics. The 70's gas crisis. Nuclear russia fears. Cuban missile crisis. The vietnam war. the great depression. Pearl harbor. Seriously, you are trying to tell us a few people from an electric car battery manufacturer being laid off is the worst thing ever? Are you serious, or was this supposed to be a parody?

I would be ok with rewarding green energy companies for a successful product, but not using tax payer money for development.

2 out of 29? Not quite:

Tesla Motor Company -- $459 million. Of which, Tesla's owner and Obama contributor, pocketed $15 million. Car costs $54,000 (w/o the government's $7K subsidy) and has a range of 130 miles -- as opposed to the 300 miles touted. What does the Prius get? The other nonsubsidized cars get? I'll leave that to you.

Fisker Automotive -- $529 million. Promised to create 5,000 jobs in the U.S. The only jobs created were in Finland. The government decided to stop funding at $193 million.

Ener One -- $118 million grant. Bankruptcy. Emerged after being bought by a Russian businessman.

Beacon Power -- $43 million. Filed bankruptcy. Bought out for $30 million.

Energy Conversion Devices -- $13 million. Bankruptcy. $350 million in debt; $318 million in assets. 300 employees lost their jobs as the plant closed.

Abound Solar -- $400 million. Had only received $68 million before it filed for bankruptcy and closed their plant.

Amonix Solar -- $24 million. Closed.

Cogentrix Energy -- $90 milliion. They just began their project in May of this year. They're still in business,

BrightSource -- $1.6 billion. At that time they were funded, they were $1.8 billion in debt with annual sales of only $13.5 million. Robert Kennedy Jr. is the firm's largest investor. One of the ex-principals of his firm went to work for the DOE after the 2008 election.

Solyndra -- $527 million. Bankrupt.

Evergreen Solar -- $125 million. Bankruptcy.

Ecotality -- $126 million. These people install electric chargers -- supposedly 14,000 across five states. So far? 6,400. And they are being investigated for insider trading.

Mountain Plaza -- Received $425,000 despite having filed for bankruptcy. Company kaput.

Raser Technologies -- Received $33 million. Currently being sued by investors for securities fraud. Apparently the officers were short-selling the stock.

Specrawatt -- $500,000. Filed bankruptcy and paid out $750,000 to the execs before closing down.

There's plenty more. Perhaps you could list the successes??

A Moment of Zen: Grading Obama's Green Energy Stimulus "Investments": Epic Fail

Yep, the interweb is a fad.

It will never become a viable industry as long as we think our only options are oil dependant products.....you think the big oil companies and their investors want anything clean energy to be a success?

Why do you hate our military?

I am a huge fan of our men and women in uniform. I am not a fan of the pentagon and its massive waste. Having spent most of my career dealing with DOD, I am very aware of the tremendous amount of DOD waste. The end result is a fighting force that is second to none, but we could obtain the same results with far less money.

The post office is a much better example of throwing money at something and not seeing any improvements.

Then why do you support a guy that wants to sink $2 Trillion more into the defense that even the Pentagon doesn't want? That is if you truly think that the DoD is that wasteful already...

Who thinks that? Actually the oil companies are investing billions into alternate energy, and when a breakthrough comes around, one of the oil companies will probably find it. But in the meantime it is foolish to stop using our abundant resources of oil, gas, and coal.

There is nothing in the near future that will power all of the cars and trucks on the I-5 in southern Cal, the beltway around DC, I-285 around Atlanta, I-95 up the east coast, or I 10,20, and 70 across the country.

When you come up with a viable alternative for a cross country 18 wheeler, let us know because you will be an instant billionaire.

these idiots are going to start a civil war if they arent careful

exactly, watch righty squirm out of your question about pentagon waste and romney wanting to waste more

Much of what Romney is talking about is to catch up for the way obama has ignored the maintenance and replacement of our military hardware and software. Our Navy is the smallest it has been since WW2. Do you happen to have a detailed list of Romney's military expenditure plans? or are you just parroting what the dem/lib media has told you to say?
