Medicare is paid for out of the paychecks of the workers that actually fund the problem, just like Social Security. If you are forced to give your money to the Federal Govt. for social security and medicare shouldn't you reasonably expect to get that money back in the future?

SS and Medicare were set up to give the retirees who paid into them a stipend and medical care, not a lump sum. If u want a lump sum, get a term life isurance policy or some such.

I don't know, when you buy health insurance, do you expect to get it all back?

No. But I also do not expect to get more than what my premium is worth, while I am paying the premium.

You think you get a lump sum payment from SS and Medicare? Where do you get your information?

Some people who have policies and have issues often get more than they pay in premiums. That is how insurance works.
