Why Obama is likely to blow the second debate too

For the record, it is my prediction that Obama will win handily tonight.

For the record, it is my prediction that Obama will win handily tonight.

My prediction:

Obama will be the same Obama that showed up before. (Including the McCain debates.)

Probably a bit more energetic (desperate?) and patronizing.

Without his buddy the teleprompter, he's a 'fish out of water'.

Seems to me he just wants to get this thing over with and go home to Hawaii.

As it turned out he didn't have to, Biden did that all by himself with his wild childish antics.

To no one's surprise, you are incapable of being objective.

Martha should have used THAT line during the debate.

Of course, Biden might have kicked her under the table.

I think Obama will win as the best Romney can play for is a draw in this format. He just is too stiff to have a believable "I feel your pain" performance. The danger to Obama is for a chronically unemployed person to get the mic in their hand, but I am sure the questioners and their questions have been well-vetted to weed out the wingnuts and camera hogs.

The TelePrompTer criticism is nonsense, a meaningless Rush Limbaugh talking point. Do you think they have teleprompters at Harvard classrooms? Obama is a talented speaker and doesn't need a TelePrompTer, it's disingenuous and smacks of racism to suggest otherwise.

Great points, I tend to agree.

Right, all criticism of obama is racially driven. it has nothing to do with his ideology or his results as president, its all because he is half black---------------are you really that foolish?

Obama will lose handily. The article from the original post is accurate:

"...Obama doesn’t have those choices, because he’s trying to stay in office – to tend cronies and inflict ideological constraints on the people – using arguments that don’t accurately represent what he’s been doing for nearly four years. He has no intention of changing course, regardless of what the current course is inflicting on the American people. Yet he can’t argue in the campaign for his current course – at least not to anyone but his base – because it is so ridden with failure and the scent of corruption. Americans continue to turn against his signature legislation, ObamaCare, and even the New York Times is beginning to doubt the effectiveness of his foreign policy."

If you don't have any clear policies or principles to guide you, it is very difficult to argue for them.

Not all, just the implication that a Harvard professor needs a TelePrompTer to speak intelligently. That is absolutely racist. Plus all the birther BS, all the tea party BS. The food stamp president remark.

There is huge amount of racist criticism of Obama, that much cannot be denied.

Your criticism applies to mitt not Obama.

While Obama is certainly a talented speaker he always seemed to struggle with discussing policy. Not sure how that will play out here, especially with Romney being so dry

Harvard professor?

What did he 'teach'?

Saul Alinsky 101?

I'll check his transcripts....doh!...those are sealed.

I predict that Obama will do better with the format than mitt. As you say, mitt is very dry. Obama is much more likeable.

Obama makes gaffes and stumbles when he is forced to ad lib or talk off the cuff. He does best when reading speech written by someone else. He would make a good actor. Maybe he can get a job in Hollywood after the election.

would that be like the racism directed at Herman Cain and Alan West?

No. There is a huge amount of fabricated racism. Like the racism you just fabricated. Nothing about about implying Obama needs a telemprompter to speak intelligently is racist. Yet you made it so. You and many others who want this race to again be about race.

He couldn't win on his record before, he can't win on his record now. But he can win on being black.

The liberals in this country - of all colors- cannot stand the thought of the first black president being a failure and lying to them about hope and change.

Isn't it great to be in America where people can vote for a candidate for any reason?
