Who won the Veep Debate tonight? [W:47]

Who won? Vote now!

Biden had some good points, but he was annoying and pushy. On substance, it was a wash. On likability, it has to go to Ryan.

I'm still not sure who won, but I think Biden's aggressiveness was completely different than Romney's and will end up hurting him. In last week's debate Romney was agressive but he looked presidential doing it. Biden was agressive but in a way that was not presidential. Ryan should have been slightly more outspoken but he did a good job of letting Biden run wild, to the point of yelling at the moderator. Personally I think Ryan looked more like a VP than Biden. Because of the interruptions and bickering I really need to re-watch it to pick a winner.

I chose a draw. I give the actual debate slightly to Biden but his behavior completely evaporated his gains. He came across as a complete and total douchebag with smirking, laughing and eyerolling. I see this impacting two pretty key groups, independents and women. I doubt either will like his antics much.

Biden spoke like everything was "the disclaimer at the end of an info commercial"... most of it was jibberish nonsense that was like marbles in his mouth..

it was a disgrace... he was openly hostile to a woman moderater, pointing and reaching and the theatrics... and just bluster and rudeness...he was beyond classless.. like obama a non class pompus ego maniac... it tells you he does FOR HIM.. NOT YOU..

I ****ing hate him.. I had no idea he was that much of an ahole..

No, he had the "Dang, this guy's teeth are bright." look on his face. You've never seen that one?
I agree, Ryan had that down in the mouth look.

Biden schooled on foreign policy, on abortion, SS, while showing the contradiction that Willard/Ryan have on Afghanistan withdrawal.

At least he gave you something to hate. I honestly don't know anything more about Romney/Ryan than I did yesterday.

Calling Mitt Romney "Willard" is stupid.

gee....I saw a very decent, smart, well mannered gentleman, that spoke in a way that resonated with rational people...that was not given any respectg by the mod or the moron Biden...

Biden makes my skin itch..
maybe ite the fake hair, tan, teeth..and botox.. mixed with delusion and non stop narcasism ,total disregard for reality and the hostile vile play of class warfare...

.... and that's the point... Romney speaks for Romney... Ryan sures up the defense, points out the faults of the president, and shows his potential as a vp... and he did all those things...

Whereas, as you even just said Biden made you hate him, and made himself look like a bad vice presidential pick... and yet another reason not to vote for Obama... because it would put THAT guy 1 heartbeat away from being president?

You saw Ryan as a spoiled little school boy, I saw him as tired, too laid back and polite. On the contrary, I saw Biden as angry, forceful, rude and kinda crazy with the weird Batman voice at the end there.
Well, you are the expert on stupid.

PS...you do know that IS his first name.

Odd, when Obama acted that way he was disconnected, lazy, asleep. But when Ryan does it, it is very Vice Presidential. Nice double standard.

At least I know where he stands, specifically. Whereas Ryan? I don't know where he stands, specifically, on anything. He's like vanilla pudding.

Ryan clearly won the first 1/3 of the debate. The middle 1/3 I would call a draw. The last 1/3 Biden won. All in-all, I'd say on substance it was a draw. On appearance, Ryan won by a landslide. Biden was snarky, unprofessional and an all-around ass. His laughs, sighs, whining (he talked more than Ryan did) and condescending tone in the first 1/3-1/2 of the debate cost him big time.

This debate probably helped the Romney-Ryan ticket only slightly because it won't hurt the surge Romney has had since the first Presidential debate as much as it will help the Obama-Biden ticket. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think this debate will sway but a very tiny portion of the undecided voters. The next Presidential debate will decide this election IMO.

Ummm no.. not the same... Ryan did great... Obama failed..Biden also failed.. Biden faield because any stat was jibberish, his points were lies, and he stumbled on every word, spoke all over the place.. BUT.. thats irrelevent.. Biden lost huge as the only thing that will be talked about was what a jerk, loser, childish clown he was, unproffesional, rude crude, and classless... thats the story, and that Ryan did pretty well and was polite and polished..

how is it the same?

If you don't know where Paul Ryan stands then you're either not listening or pretending to not listen so that you can claim that you don't know where he stands on anything. Either way, it's dishonest and unintelligent. Both sides have clearly stated where they stand on many issues. Don't pretend you haven't heard it just to get a little snarky zinger in.

Blinders man, take them off. I believe I can honestly say that you hate Obama/Biden and that is impeding your ability to objectively view this race.

What did he lie about?

Cuts to medicare

Being able to compensate for the tax cuts with reduction of loop holes

Increase in deficit spending. Went down every year since 2009, even more if you adjust for inflation.

Increase in taxes on the middle class.

So many other key things I don't remember if you could link me a replay I'll find them.

No... Ryan looked like he wasn't rude and was obeying the ground rules established between the candidates months in advance... and Joe Biden thought he was too good for that, and constantly was rude dismissive interruptive and showed clearly Joe Biden is not presidential material...

You thought Biden looked like Romney in Debate 1? Hardly.....

I think Paul Ryan just did serious damage to his political aspirations in 2016

So give me one SPECIFIC tax loop hole that they plan on getting rid of. Not "tax loophole for the rich", that's not specific. Their campaign is built on not being specific.

If I had to score it as a 15 round fight, I'd give it to Biden something like 9-6 or 8-7.

Nothing game breaking.

Away with you, Hugh! While both men tonight did better than both men in the previous debate Ryan didn't suck, but he didn't win this one. As an Independent who will vote for Gary Johnson I would say that I don't honestly believe that Ryan won many crossover voters, independent voters, or undecided moderates. Ryan did fine, but Ryan appeals to people more far right than mainstream. It is thus not easy for him to convince mainstream voters. I don't think it he did.

In the end i like Biden more than Obama. What I like about Ryan is that he is pretty steadfast to beliefs he know will not appeal to the masses. I respect his commitment.
