I think we saw how smart Obama is during the debates. Has has a record now, a very public record, and he was challenged on that record. A guy as smart as Obama is supposed to be would have done a far sight better... without any debate prep!

Obama was clueless, and he thought he won... that's how clueless he really is.
Obama has had the way paved for him his whole life... then he hit a little gravel in the road (the debate) and he fell down like a drunk.

Perhaps in some version of Harry Potter... but in real life? No. We didn't need the debates to learn this either. He left a heavy trail of popcorn showing he was not so bright.

There is one simple test... How much screaming would we hear from the left if Bush had these numbers... or any Republican for that matter? Fact is... he would deserve it... especially given four years to do something to change it!

To believe Obama's anti-business platform during the past fours years is creating a recovery one must be suffering from a severe case of "Head in Butt Syndrome". There will be a recovery... the minute Obama is voted out of office. That will be the start... because business people will know the target is taken off their backs, that they are not the enemy and can expect a new environment to risk and prosper.

Doesn't it bother you that the "conservative" response to any number that disagrees with their preconceived notion of the universe is to invent a giant conspiracy? If someone drove into a ditch, my first though would be to question the driver. I wouldn't launch a huge investigation into a secret midnight road shifting conspiracy.

Job numbers are a noisy measurement of reality. Are we looking at a giant conspiracy or is it more likely that we had a few months of overly pessimistic job numbers followed by an optimistic one?

4-years of 8% unemployment. Anti-business mentality. Business illiteracy and hostility by our Chief Executive.

The yobs nummers are an attempt to save Obama's bacon after 4-years of utter failure.
You don't need 'em nummers to know Obama has failed miserably.

Those numbers represent quite the jump in employment. Largest since Reagan.
Odd timing isn't it... and as Welch noted... these numbers can be skewed... and were.

But they don't matter except for the circle jerk narrative from his propagandists in the press.
They're supposed to report news... question and dig... but when it comes to Obama they're their with their mouths open... willing to take and give anything.
It's a disaster for our nation.
An unmitigated disaster that should have never occurred, and would never have occurred had they done their jobs.

Like him or hate him, Obama is brilliant. I work in a research institute where Obama visited. Before he spoke, we gave him a brief overview of some of the work we're doing. The one thing that everyone was struck by was how he quickly he grasped the actual problems. His questions were the ones we would have asked.

The US Presidency is by far the most difficult job in the world. You can't get there without being pretty darn intelligent. Bush was a C student at Yale, which puts him well above average intelligence. Obama is a heck of a lot smarter than that. Yeah, he carries himself like the smartest guy in the room... but I'm inclined to think it justified.

The largest since Reagan when GDP was growing at 9.3%

But according to Obama we went from 8.3% Unemployment in July to 7.8% Unemployment in Oct with 1.3% GDP Growth

This is blatant propaganda trying to be passed onto the public as fact. U6 Unemployment is 14.7% and it didn't change. Not one mainstream economist that I'm aware of predicted 7.8%. On the contrary, a poll of economists by Gallop showed they expected unemployment to go UP to 8.2%.

I even made a thread about that the day previous to this bogus jobs report. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck.

Um... You do realize that the jump was in the UNEMPLOYMENT survey, not the employment numbers. They're computed in different ways, the unemployment rate is computed with the Current Population Survey of 60,000 households. The jobs numbers come from the Establishment survey.

The jobs numbers have shown a fairly consistent average of about 140k private sector job growth per month. Despite this, the unemployment numbers held steady at 8.1 before increasing to 8.3% for two months even though simply math would argue that the number should have been dropping. Were the 8.3% numbers a giant Republican conspiracy?

But please continue to disregard any notion of reality as it clearly offends you.

I feel sorry for the real conservatives... the ones who are intellectually honest, who support actual ideas and policies for coherent reasons. The ones who don't root for political parties the same way people root for sports teams.

I assume your talking about Obama, fabricating the number he has already thrown out is bogus and everyone knows. This is no different than Obama telling the American people that our Ambassador and three others were killed in Libya by a video.

I just think that if Obama was going to fabricate numbers to help his re-election, he'd come up with a smaller number than 7.8. You'd think he'd be fabricating low numbers all along. At least that makes more sense to me.

I'd be happy to, but everything having to do with this conspiracy theory is editorial. There is NO EVIDENCE that anything untoward happened with the BLS numbers. And logically it's crazy to think that something could have happened. It would require the complete cooperation of hundreds, if not thousands, of bureaucrats who come from both parties, as well as independents, and who naturally take pride in producing accurate results. You also have to make the logical leap of concluding that this kind of conspiracy has been possible all along, but for some reason the WH decided to punish itself over the last three years by producing inflated unemployment numbers. It's quite insane.

My point was that someone can be smart and intelligent while still being not that great of a president. I don't think how smart or intelligent someone is automatically determines how well they will do as president.

Ok, here. I posted this in another thread and got no response. It is not opinion and has some plausable causes for the 'conspiracy'...

YOU stated in another thread about the 873k part time jobs being a large part of the UE reduction. THIS COULD be the reason for such. Please look closely at the charts as they seem ambiguous with regards to the 873k to me.

No, we don't have evidence that anyone did anything improper with the numbers. Forming at the mount and being hyperbolic, ignoring reality, doesn't make up for a lack of evidence.
