I believe Obama will be the last Black POTUS we'll see in our lifetimes.

Why?

Because of the way he 'slipped' into office. Because of what he has done and not done in office. Because of how his campaign has behaved in this re-election bid. And because of how his administration and re-election campaign has divided this nation.

So, bottom line, enjoy it while you have it, Obama fans.

He's the last African American that White voters will take a chance on for a loooooong time.

Who...cares about his skin? I didn't think that was at all part of the discussion.

He's also a christian, does that mean he'll be the last christian POTUS we'll see in our lifetimes?

After the next 4 years there maybe a referendum to overturn the 2 term limit. Then Obama can win a 3rd time.

The premise of the OP is severely flawed. But in answer...no. The demographics in this country are rapidly changing. It is highly likely that we will see several people of color elected to the office in the future.

Time to move on from sorting our presidents, or anyone else, by color.

I agree.. who cares about skin color.. I only care about whats in their heart and if they can do the job and protect the USA

I think it depends on how old one is. If you are 80, yep. If you are 18, nope.

The premise for this thread is that Liberals and others acknowledge voting for Obama so that they could say they finally elected a Black man to the office.

They weren't as concerned about his qualifications as they should have been, or else he'd have lost.

No. The voters fell in love with the narrative of THE FIRST BLACK POTUS.

His skin color WAS the reason he was elected.

But they won't do that again.

Until they nominate another unqualified candidate who is White, I guess.

Maybe it will be the last man we have in office.

No, the time to have done THAT was in 2008. Make no mistake about it. He was elected because of his color.

That's one of the most ridiculous things I've read lately. It's people like you that lend credence to the idea that a portion of the opposition to Obama's administration is from racism.

Huh? How did he "slip" into office? By being elected by the voters in accordance with the US Constitution, just like every other president?

WTF does this have to do with his being black?

He's the last African American that White voters will take a chance on for a loooooong time.

Does this racist rant have any particular point?

After the voters really get a good look at the damage he and his candidacy and administration have done to this country and the fallout that will come from his "rule" you will not see another Black POTUS in your lifetime.

...you just made a mistake about it... You really should quit this while you're ahead (while their are still doubts about the nature and extent of your prejudices)

I believe in my lifetime we will see another black president, hispanic president and woman president.

I'll just mention that Herman Cain was doing pretty well until his testosterone got him in trouble. So, hopefully we won't turn into a nation of bigots as a result of one election.

His skin color WAS the reason he was elected.

I thought it was the outgoing President with approval ratings around 30. Democrats dominated in all areas in 2008 and 2006, I don't think all of that was due to Obama's skin color.

I hear ya.. Obama is the radical marxist trojan horse.. and the Libs knew they could fend off any vetting of him by using or hiding behind faked charges of racism against anyone who dared to find out about his uncle Odinga and his radical ties to BLT and Frank Marshal Davis etc..

so I agree, the next african american candidate will be treated as any other candidate from this point forward.. Obama was given a pass..

He will be the last unqualified president elected solely for the novelty of it.

You know, back in 2007 I was nervous that Hilary would get the nomination because she would have been so hard to beat. Now, I'm thinking it would have been better for the country to have had her in the White House.

I don't think he's the last African American "white voters will take a chance on" but I think the novelty of being the first African-American president has worn off and I think future candidates will have to get by on their own merits as opposed to skin color. I think someone like Condoleezza Rice or Colin Powell could potentially do well in an election.

the point is if Cain wsa Obama and a liberal, his affairs etc would ahve been off limits and covered up... I think thats the OPs point..that since Obama was a radical liberal and FIRST, he was treated as a deity...

I didn't vote for him because of his color, nor did anyone else I know who voted for him. I voted for him because the speeches he gave sounded much like the speeches my favorite president gave (that would be Ike). That and McCain is a flat-out crook. Unfortunately, his speeches did not inform the way he governed.

Does this racist rant have any particular point?

Because of his color the media and millions of voters supported his candidacy and voted for him to make the "Black POTUS" narrative a reality. When the time came for him to reveal critical information about his past the MSM either didn't dig for the answers or push him to come clean. So, he STILL has yet to reveal the info about his college performance and activities. He slipped into office with the direct help of the media who didn't and hasn't adequately vetted him.

It has everything to do with his being Black because THAT was the primary reason millions voted for him. How else would a two year Senator with criminals, felons, convicted terrorists, bigoted anti-White preachers and card carrying Communists generously littering his resume and his campaign team, who admitted to being a fan of wealth redistribution, be elected?

The point of this thread is to point out to you Libs what UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES truly means to you.

And in this case, to all of us.

I think the 2008 election was clearly going Democrat no matter who the nominee was but it's hard for me to come up with any real arguments as to why then-Sen. Obama distinguished himself from the group, aside from race. He certainly didn't have a resume comparable to his opponents.
