Romney Bump: FL, VA, OH, NV

The market is doing well for two reasons: 1. Corporations have streamlined themselves and are raking in record profits. 2. The FED has pursued a poolicy over the last 4 years of inflating asset prices. If you want a return on your money, the only place to put it is in stocks. There is so much artificial stimulus and government action in the markets it is impossible to know what the true value of anything is.

Well now, I have't heard that in any recent financial analysis. Can you tell me where you got this idea?

None of that is remotely controversial. Corporations are profitable because they cut payroll and expenses after the crash and have been slow to rehire. As for the FED, Bernake himself has stated that his goal is to inflate or reflate asset prices. By keeping interest rates low, the only place to get a return is the stock market. That is why every time Bernanke speaks about additional easing, the markets rise.

So now the polls are accurate! One week all the polls are wrong next week spiking the football over poll numbers! I appreciate the entertainment guys!!

One week ago you guys were saying the election was effectively over. :D

Well, the stock market has more than doubled over the last 4 years. That shows economy confidence.

That is in no way an indicator of future economic growth.

Actually, a rise in the stock market is an indicator that the economy is growing healthier. There are many indicators economists use to predict future growth, the stock market is one of them.

Guess, not predict...a trend today is tomorrow's loss.

And what did the 14,000 high for the DOW in October of 2007 predict for the future?

It predicted that the market was overheated. You can't just look at the top-line number.

I think the stock market indices are a HORRIBLE measure of our economy.

Real Clear Politics like to exaggerate the numbers. This won't last. It is, after all, still Romney and his stand on getting rid of Social Security is still present.

Well, except you have a debt bomb set to go off in China, warnings that the US credit rating may drop soon, the student loan debt bomb here in the US and the sluggish European market shows no sign of recovery. There is definitely no certainty in the economy.

bingo. there are alot more ways that the near future goes very bad than that it goes very well.

oh man. people believe that?

Well honestly it pretty much still is. Obama has pretty much led in every state he needs to in order to win and has for pretty much the entire election.

I agree. You guys have zero to worry about. I wouldn't even worry about going to the polls at all, if I were you. :D
