Romney on 47% comments: I was 'completely wrong'

Not voting for O or Ro, and I'm one of those that said his best response would have been to stand by his comments. This latest comment...well...at least he said "I was completely wrong" and not "I didnt say that."

At the end of the day...it wont matter. Those that are in that 47% wont change their mind about Romney...they ARE dependent on big gov and keeping those in power that will keep tossing them crumbs and call it a meal. Those that are Pro Romney...frankly they agree with his comments.

This election will come down to a battle for the independents. The independents dont give a **** about the 47%, excuses, blaming Bush, or anything else but jobs, economic growth, and real change. Romneys comments about the 47% dont sway them. Snoop and getyoObamaphonegurl might because they illustrate the 47% far better than anything Romney says.

I'm just curious how Romney supporters feel about this considering he said earlier that he stands by his comments and they, for the most part, agreed with his assessment. Does this waver your support of him at all?

I personally think it's a preemptive measure for the next debate because Obama will most likely bring it up.
Well, Romney was wrong. Not in his assessment that there are millions of Americans dependent upon government who will vote for anyone willing to put in their hands something that rightly belongs to someone else, but in that the number of Americans who fit that description is 47%. Its not that high. Thankfully. 30% would have been a better estimate.

Great, so now we have the standard of literal interpretation on the trail...Funny how that only applies to GOP candidates....Look, Romney was pretty clear I thought, he said that what he was saying didn't come out right....Shall we hold Obama and Biden to those same standards please?

Um... I wasn't attacking Romney on this. I was simply asking Romney supporters if this upset them. That's it. Bring it down a notch.

This is terribly funny coming from a guy who continuously reminds everyone of his own attendance to an Ivy league school. Remind everyone how you were not middle class while doing so.

And since Obama was raised in Hawaii under the roof of his Grandparents house (who were definitely middle class), I will wait for you to provide income levels of his mother while she was a student at U of H to prove whatever point you think you have.

yes... and I pay my own way through that Ivy League school, while working full time...

I also never claimed to be "middle class" most of the time... I've been lower class, working 23-30K/yr jobs... Not visiting professorships, professional lawyer stint, other jobs I was hooked up with, or survive off of the sale of two books begining in my 30s..

Obama was "raised" in numerous different places... people keep talking about this place in Hawaii... he didn't spend his entire life in Hawaii... However Hawaii, again, has the highest cost of living in the nation... He was there in Hawaii attending an elite exclusive school system, the Punahou Academy... One that his fairly affluent grandparents retired to Hawaii to allow him to attend...

So lets get back to the point... I responded to the claim that Barack Obama has been middle class for 95% of his lifetime... I just disproved that he was...

You want to get into an argument about his life in Hawaii to distract from that point, I think most of those people who grew up on the south side of Chicago, that didn't get multi-million dollar properties bought for them by Tony Rezko to live in would've gladly swithced places with him in Hawaii...

The point is still that Barack has spent countless hours trying to paint himself as not being a rich kid, when in actuality, he's spent the majority of his life hobnobbing with elitists, and hasnt lived the working class life he pretends he had...

Obama was a thoroughly middle class kid who went to some good schools because he was awarded grants and scholarships, and paid the balance with student loans. He and his grandparents lived in a two-bedroom apartment. His grandparents lived in the same apartment for 41 years.

So...it is possible to be less than upper class and attend an Ivy league school....fine, that was my point.

There you go again, "affluent", no not affluent but middle class.

So lets get back to the point... I responded to the claim that Barack Obama has been middle class for 95% of his lifetime... I just disproved that he was...
No, you didn't, you showed no income levels of his mother or extended family. Your argument boils down to that his grandparents were "affluent" because they lived in Hawaii....as if middle and lower class folks do not live in Hawaii.

Funny, you claim I am focused on Hawaii while you bring it up again and then talk about property the Obama's bought in 2005 (that was just 7 years ago).

The point is still that Barack has spent countless hours trying to paint himself as not being a rich kid, when in actuality, he's spent the majority of his life hobnobbing with elitists, and hasnt lived the working class life he pretends he had...
Oh.... hobnobbing! Here I thought you were going to actually talk about income/wealth levels of the family while Obama was younger and instead I just get more creative language.

I hope Obama brings it up. It will open several opportunities for Romney to attack Obama's failed record

Yes, we should and do hold Obama and Biden to the same standards. To think that Obama and Biden get treated any differently than Romney and Ryan do is funny.

wrong..

now name what he flipped on at the debate.. you cant..even that legally brain dead Stephanie Cutter ( Oh I almost made a type on her last name lol ) just admitted that Mitt did not..

Middle-class tax cuts. During the debate he stated, "My view is that we ought to provide tax relief to people in the middle class". Previously, while speaking to an audience in Ohio, Romney told the audience, "don't be expecting a huge cut in taxes because I'm also going to lower deductions and exemptions.

and you sound confused.. again Mitt was saying for upper 3% to not expect a tax cut.....you cant get that?

go vote Obama ..hes the choice of the confused and bewildered

LMFAO... he got grants and scholarships when he was 8-10 to go to an elite private academy in Hawaii? Based off his stellar performance in Indonesia, no doubt, right? Nothing to do with his grandparents being elite connected members of a family line linked to 6 former presidents... They didn't live in the same apartment for 41 years... They retired... his grandfather died... his mother lived on Hawaii, in a 2 bedroom apartment complex off of what she got from Social Security and inheritance from her husband... that's not a bad life...

He is 59 years old, and the majority of that time was spend as a Chicago elite with high up connections moving him right along...

So...it is possible to be less than upper class and attend an Ivy league school....fine, that was my point.

Yes... no one said it isn't possible...

Obama didnt get a free ride scholarship or grant to go to Pamatou school, Columbia, or Harvard... his wealthy father and other policial connections made that possible...

There you go again, "affluent", no not affluent but middle class.

His grandfather was a retired soldier, who managed multiple furniture stores... his grandmother was a VP of a bank on Hawaii... His dad was a wealthy high ranking member of the Kenyan government, with an economics degree from Harvard... His mother earned a degree, masters degree, and doctorate when very few women had... and she worked for numerous banks and government agencies...

Do you seriously think that matches up with the life of the middle class?

No, you didn't, you showed no income levels of his mother or extended family. Your argument boils down to that his grandparents were "affluent" because they lived in Hawaii....as if middle and lower class folks do not live in Hawaii.

No, I went to his life... he is in his 50s... what he did from 10-18 is attend an elite private academy on hawaii... he then went to occidental college in CA, another elite small private school... before going to Columbia and Harvard... then working as a lawyer, a visiting professor, and writing books that made him millions when he was in his 30s, then a state senator, then a us senator, then president...

So if the claim is he spent his life as mostly middle class... how can the rest of us get in this "middle class"... which seems more like a storybook dream life?

Funny, you claim I am focused on Hawaii while you bring it up again and then talk about property the Obama's bought in 2005 (that was just 7 years ago).

right... 7 years out of his 52 years on earth... so 1/7th of his life he's lived in a multimillion dollar property that someone else bought for him... after writing an autobiography that made him millions only being in his 30s... 1/3rd of his life he's been a millionaire... another 1/3rd of his life he worked as lawyer with elite firms, and as a visiting professor at the University of Chicago... and the other 1/3rd he attended elite education institutions...

I'm still waiting for the 95% of his life middle class portion to be proven... or rather, I've continually disproven it...

Oh.... hobnobbing! Here I thought you were going to actually talk about income/wealth levels of the family while Obama was younger and instead I just get more creative language.

LMFAO... Oh, I'm sorry for not having access to his family's personal finances...

Again,

grandparents on mother's side 1 manages furniture stores, the other is a vp of a bank... Mother gets a PhD and works for major banks and government agencies...

grandparent on father's side high up ranking member of the Kenyan Government, father Harvard graduate and leader of the oil ministry of Kenya...

So, if you've got income statements that prove me wrong... I'd say that's a far cry from someone whose mom stayed at home, and whose father toiled in a factory, mine, lumber yard, etc.

Your idea of "middle" class must be everyone not on the forbes' 200 richest list...
