Economy - Should we be talking about Sustainability instead of Growth?

I certainly hope not. I was listening to marketplace- Freakanomics. They had Stephen Dubner talking about a few economist's predictions and how we need to be talking about sustainability instead of growth. It's obvious that the president has much less power over the economy than we think, and what they have to present to us.

Are the economic platforms of the candidates incorrect? Just thought I'd see what people thought on this board.
