Republicans End Swing-State Voter Sign-Up After Firing Company - Bloomberg

The Republican National Committee ended efforts to sign up new voters before the deadline in key states for the presidential race because of questions raised over registration applications tied to the party.

Bad news for Romney.

Republican parties in Florida, Colorado, Nevada, North Carolina and Virginia -- all states that both campaigns view as competitive -- fired Glen Allen, Virginia-based Strategic Allied Consulting, the company in charge of registrations, said Kirsten Kukowski, a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee. The national committee also canceled its contract with the company, its only vendor signing up new voters, Kukowski said.

While there is only 4 to 13 days left (depending on the state) before voter registration ends, the closeness of the election according to the GOP themselves, .. this stopping of getting voter registered, could spell a major problem for the GOP and especially Romney/Ryan.

Not really. I've never quite understood these Republican "Get out the vote" campaigns. The type of people that Republicans ought to be marketing themselves towards are already registered to vote and can get themselves to the polls on their own.

When one looks at past actions by the company involved in these latest allegations, one might begin to wonder if it wasn't trying to disenfranchise Democratic voters by supplying new registration cards with bogus addresses and inaccurate personal info.
