Maybe we should create a whole new government agency that examines tax returns and determines if anything is wrong with them - especially those returns where millions of dollars are involved.

We could let this agency have the power to bring charges against those who violate the tax code.

We could even require that agency to be experts in the tax code, not just lawyers who read the text of tax codes.

This needs to be addressed ASAP - anyone have a name for such an agency?

Iirc, the agency which is similar to this, prioritizes their actions. People who have a lot of money to use to defend themselves are at a lower priority than more average schmoes who are more likely to give a return on the agency's investment of time and energy. So the agency spends more effort on the smaller fish which it can harvest more cheaply and efficiently than the bigger fish who're more likely to fight back with high powered attorneys and tie up the agency's resources indefinitely with a lesser probability that the agency will see a return on its investment in compliance procedures.

But I might be mis-remembering.

No idea whether this has any merit to it, but no doubt the DOJ will ignore it either way. There's no need to go there, and it will only make them look like partisan hacks abusing the legal system.

If it were Obama, no doubt there'd be 20 lawsuits filed already though.

Agreed.

Not by the DOJ [even assuming he wasn’t the sitting President]. The Orly “What is standing?”Taitz crew, perhaps.
