GOP 12
A couple new polls today confirm Barack Obama's solid lead in Oregon and Michigan.
An MRG Survey of Michigan shows Obama up, 48%-42%, over Mitt Romney in Michigan, which is unchanged since MRG's last survey of the race in March.
Digging deeper, Obama leads Romney by 16% in Oakland County where Romney was grew up. In 2008, Obama won the county by 14%, and Romney needs to do MUCH better than McCain. After all, John Kerry won the county by less than 1% in 2004, and Gore won it by just over 1% in 2000.
Obama's job approval sits at 50%/46%, which isn't great, but in a blue state, it should be good enough.
One big advantage for Obama is, not surprisingly, the auto bailout. 61% support it; 32% oppose it.
Meanwhile, let's zip over to Oregon, where Obama is still in good shape.
A Survey USA poll shows him leading, 50%-41%, in the poll, and there's nary a red flag. Independents, men, women, the young and the old all pick Obama.
