Meh, polls aren't useless, but they are a poor indicator. I think this will be the hardest election to predict in many years.

I personally think we will keep seeing Obama at the head of the ship, but I'm fine if I'm wrong. I'm more concerned about getting all of congress going with one team and the whitehouse going with the other. That is best outcome in my opinion.

Senate and House keep refusing to vote on anything from the other one. Need them to at least get the stuff out there instead of ignoring each other.

National polls that are this close in result don't tell us squat. They're really meaningless. We don't elect our presidents with a national vote, but state by state electoral votes. The state polls will tell the story, maybe not the complete story, but far more applicable than a national poll.

I hear ya...I was posting it just to show the polls are all over the place...to me the Midterms that the Dems said they woudl win tell me that the Dems are in for a rude awakening..

its not trolling its a question! Will you leave the site if Obama wins? You have been talking so much about this election and trolling on any Obama related thread that Romney is a sure thing, so if Obama was to actually win this election I would feel a little silly if I was you.

Re: Mitt ahead 47% to 45%...Rasmussen

I don't generally trust polls either.

I find it rather amusing that certain dems talk about the race as if it were over... trying so hard to portray romney as un-electable.
I guess it could swing either way. Without holding any preferences, odds are that Obama will win. He is the favorite in this race and he hasn't had the PR nightmare Romney had during his primary run. I mean, Romney took a beating in the primary... and he lost a lot of constituents, especially young people, when the GOP screwed Ron Paul over. So there is the question of who will do aggressive campaigning on the ground for him... knocking from door to door and giving phone calls. He lost a lot of potential there. I mean, think about it... the Ron Paul supporters worked tirelessly for what they believed in, and they got shut down. Imagine, if Romney had managed to embrace them, how much more good it would have done for his campaign. I am guessing the only reason he didn't flip flop on issues to attact some RP supporters is because he is already bought and paid for by the special interest groups... then again, Obama is bought and paid for 4x over. I mean it... he has received 4x the special interest money that Romney has.

If the GOP could showcase this... and show that all the talk about how the Dems are the party of the people... and how they are struggling for the working man... and then just hit the news with the ads showing how much money Obama got from bankers and corporations... it would be the end of all his demagogy.

From your lips to God's ears. I'd love to get rid of this poor excuse for a president, but I think if anything, it'll be very, very close.

Re: Mitt ahead 47% to 45%...Rasmussen

There's only one poll that matters, and it's on a Tuesday in November.

Re: Mitt ahead 47% to 45%...Rasmussen

...the popular vote doesn't really matter....

Re: Mitt ahead 47% to 45%...Rasmussen

I don't think so. Rasmussen's been the only poll completely out since the embassy attacks. But their numbers are pretty much where the average of their numbers has been all season. If the embassy attacks have any impact on the election, we should see in the next few days.

While Rasmuss doesn't have a blatantly obvious bias, traditionally, it's had a 2% leaning towards Republicans.

Again we'll see after debates and on election day.
