Wow... just wow. Obama has released his long form birth certificate and theres some people out there that are still not getting it. It's amazing really.

Wish I could say it is unbelievable but these days politians will do anything to throw an election their way.

Did you by chance read the article you cited and did you read the link provided in the original source back to the Topeka Capitol Journal? I am making no further comment on your spin until that committee reconvenes.

I did. It is birther nonsense. Is it a bizarre coincidence that almost every single birther is republican?

Are people really that scared to let this be a legitimate election?

It makes sense. Just like almost every single person initially calling for Romney's tax records is democrat or left-leaning.

Only the people who don't like you/your politics are likely to challenge your legitimacy or character.

The left has the benefit of being incredibly well unified, while the right tends to eat their own if it looks politically expedient to do so.

That they even had to have a meeting about it after all the stuff that Obama has had to do by releasing two copies of birth certificates and having the governor and officials and Hawaii confirm that he was born there is absolutely insane. The only reaction that is reasonable towards people like this is absolute disgust.

Think about it TGND, they are trying to take a candidate off the ballot because they feel that two birth certificates, two birth announcements in newspapers and confirmation from the states governor and officials simply isn't enough to prove that someone was born where he said he was born. Do you really think that they would be doing this if he were a republican? Seriously, you can't believe that. At best, the voters of Kansas have elected retards to public office, at worst, they have elected people who think they know better and we don't really need a democracy.

Actually, oddly, a number of big name republicans called on Romney to release more tax returns.

Geesh - I'd be so embarrassed right now if I was a Kansan. Just wow - the stupidity.

Kansas State Board Considers Removing Obama From Ballot | TPMMuckraker

Guess that is a way of winning an election.. not that Kansas matters in the big picture... remove the opposition. Is that SOP for the GOP these days?

The board will send records requests to Hawaii, Arizona and Mississippi

I understand Hawaii, but why would they request records from Arizona and Mississippi?

When are "Birthers" going to question Romney's Short form "Certificate of Live Birth"? Oh, right, Romney is white.

OMG!!! Romney's "Short form Certificate of Live Birth" says VOID!!!!! Obviously a forgery!!!!!

I think part of the problem the right is having is that they are trying to be just as unified, but don't want to shut any of the extremists out.

Yes, but I think that they didn't ask him to do so because they felt he was hiding something, they wanted him to do it either because:

1. It's the right thing to do and it's what everyone else has done.

or

2. It would have ended the controversy and they thought it was smart politically.

None of them that I know of wanted him to do it because they didn't trust him or anything like that.

During the primaries? Yeah. They were competing against one another for the nod, so they (and rep leads who endorsed them) were automatically going to target the weakest point for each candidate. Hillary and Barack did it to each other as well.
And then the dems led the charge once Romney was locked.
Republicans stayed on his ass about it because, as I said, they have an astounding tendency to eat their own if it looks politically expedient.

The sad thing is, there's more to earn in the middle than there is on the fringe. It's astoundingly dumb of them to miss that.

Thing is redress, I am withholding comment because this looney birther (and let's face it, there are loons in the dem and Rep camp!) may have found some loophole that legally this committee had to address.

I'm Sorry, but I'm not going to play in the "they are doing it because they are afraid of Obama or opposition" game. I'm just not. I believe there is more at okay here and unfortunately, I don't feel as though we have all we need to make such accusations.

No, post primary.

lol @ birthers

FWIW, Romney has held a steady lead in Kansas for most of this election cycle, near as I can tell. The state went to McCain overwhelmingly in 2008, and to Bush in 2004. This isn't a "battleground state" by any stretch of the word. There's nothing to gain from removing Obama from the ballot in Kansas from an election standpoint.

Yea, it's more or less a underhanded way to say "know your place, boy..."

Maybe they could give him a separate election after the real one, you know, separate but equal, lol.

Which makes Kansas even more stupid. Do they not have the internets in Kansas to make this a nonissue? Rehashing the same stupid ****, especially when the threat is so empty as be be laughable, is not going to have much effect. However, it is fun to laugh at birthers.

Yes I did read it.. hence I wrote "might".

Considering this is a red state, and the committee is loaded with not only Republicans but birthers.. then well..we shall see.

Personally I dont think they have time. If they do agree to remove him, then 30 seconds later a judge will put a hold on that while the legality is questioned and all that. By the time all that is over, the election will have come and gone.
