Funny how you can't see the forest through the trees. If Egypt is not an ally of the US, why would it protect our Embassy? You say "every country as an obligation to protect the embassies" is that right, and you think everyone is going to live up to it's obligations. Like no country broke a treaty, etc. this is what one would classify as naive.
You asked if we don't consider Egypt our ally why would we expect it to protect our embassy, and I told you exactly why we would expect it to protect our embassy. Now I'm being accused of trusting everyone blinding, something I never said at all and of course don't advocate, that's why we have walls, security, Marines, weapons, etc in our embassies to protect ourselves when the host country is incapable or unwilling to do it themselves. But its a fact of the nature of embassies that much of your security depends on the locals, ultimately the embassy is isolated surrounded by another countries with thousands of locals, if they turn violent then you can only hold out for so long.
You give and example and I give you Libya as an example. Not all countries follow the rules. That is what your having a hard time understanding. So Obama sits back thinking all is good, as you would think, and they all love us and they will protect our embassies. He once again is dead wrong.
Ah so you accuse the countries of not following the rules, were they behind the riots and violence? Did Libya storm our embassy and killing the ambassador? Or perhaps you are saying that they were negligent in their protection of our consulate? Buts its not like the enemy is never successful despite our best efforts right? Libya is actually working with us quite well in my opinion and I think we are taking a good route by not blaming them and creating a wedge between our two governments, and instead blaming the actual attackers and going after them together.

As for Obama sitting back before the actual attacks, perhaps you could provide a source or explain further how Obama didn't do enough and how he is personally responsible for individual embassy security?
