Navy Times Mobile - Russian ships displayed at DNC tribute to vets

091112-dnc1-800.JPG

On the last night of the Democratic National Convention, a retired Navy four-star took the stage to pay tribute to veterans. Behind him, on a giant screen, the image of four hulking warships reinforced his patriotic message.

But there was a big mistake in the stirring backdrop: those are Russian warships.

Well there goes the new Democrat attempted narrative in regards to Foreign Policy and National Security

Dems...so stupid they make my teeth hurt..

I weep for my country...

all that was misisng was Obama with a "mission accomplished" banner on he Russian carrier..Obama has ruined our country which is Obama's "mission"..

is it possible that the dems can be any more inept? What a bunch of fools. From showing Russian ships to denying a voice vote, Idiots!

Some meeting planner messes up an image isn't the best of reasons to bash an entire party (unless that's how you get your jollies). Nitpicking stupid things just perpetuates the stupidity.

That is embarrassing for the Dems, I'm sure.

I was in the military for 10 years, and I wouldn't be able to tell you what country those ships are from.

Intent was good.

Execution sucked.

Moving on.

Shows incompetence and utter lack of attention to detail.

They could have just googled "US Navy Fleet pictures" and found thousands of pictures to choose from.

Well, the Republican Convention was such an unmitigated disaster (Chair - 1, Eastwood - 0) that they're reduced to this. I think the polls show what the American people thought of the two conventions.

:lamo Disaster? DNC wears the blunder crown with the "God/Jerusalem" fiasco.

Well apparently the public does not agree with you, if the polls are anything to go by.

Oh wait, I forgot. We can't trust the polls because they're all in league with the Democrats.:lamo

Obama gets post-convention bounce in surveys

I don't trust the poll because the odds are that most never saw it. It was on the news for about 13 hours before they started falling all over themselves because of Clinton's speech.

Just to back to your earlier knock, Clint polled well. Since you're invoking polls.

Did you mean Clinton polled well? I agree with you.

And why am I not surpised that you 'don't trust' polls?

No, I said Clint...not Clinton. Clint Eastwood polled well following the RNC.

Never said I didn't trust polls but when it comes to blunders during the Conventions, DNC takes the cake. You're the one invoking polls as proof and then mentioned Clint vs Chair. Clint's bit polled well. So are you the one that doesn't trust polls?

Isn't it sad when idiots out number rational people. They make all these (irrelevant) claims in a desperate attempt to mare the image of our president. As if that'll change the fact that employment grew and unemployment fell, while stocks soared. Debt is growing at a reasonable pace, GM is alive, OBL is dead.

Even if those warships were Russian the things listed above doesn't all of a sudden change.

Do you suppose that Navy guys would know?

Doubtless, the Marine Corps weeps.

Reminds me of when the Chinese used a scene from Top Gun to show off "their new aircraft"

That kind of sums up the Obama administration.

Stupid is as stupid does.

You sure do put a lot of stack in polls. Do you watch American Idol and stuff?

Well, lets just say I put more faith in polls than in the unsubstantiated claims of a Far Right internet partisan.

Yeah, but the chair still won the debate.

This issue is a perfect example of bias and partisanship.

Reps do something boneheaded... Dems rail, Reps spin. Dems do something boneheaded... Reps rail, Dems spin.
