Why is this important? If one party considers that is the best wording to deliver their message and be understood, then they should go ahead and use it, too! Well, IMHO.

Generally website coverage like this is outsourced from the actual campaigns themselves. They might have used the same firm which generally uses the same copy unless the client requests new copy. nonstory :)
 
my guess is their web design people used the same template for donations. i doubt one campaign looked at the other's donation page and said, "wow, that's pure poetry, i'm totally ganking that! woohoo!"

in other news, this election is reaching new levels of cray cray.

Could be that they are both using the same credit card pay service and it is the services' generic wording and not those campaigns' wording.
 
Do you honestly think that the campaigns design their own websites? Hell no. They pick the basic content and contract it out to someone that specializes in websites. In this case, they probably picked the same company or the company they picked used the Obama website as a guide. But for someone to think that Romney or his campaign had anything to do with the minute details of the website is seriously naive.
