Romney had promised that the first thing he would do in office is to remove obamacare because like many republicans he thought it was really bad. this is despite his policy in MA to be something Obamacare was based on.

Romney says he would keep parts of Obama healthcare law - Yahoo! News

Now we see Romney is saying he likes a bunch of parts of obamacare, and plans to keep them in place. Now he does not seem to mention the mandate everyone hates so much, but it was Romney who said that mandate was necessary in MA to cover the rising costs associated with the regulations passed onto the health insurance industry. So it looks like Romney has done another flip flop.

How can we trust he will do what he says when every time the going gets tough he just says something else? If romney is planning on replacing obamacare with the same things then why do we need to get rid of obamacare?

On a more personal note do any of you republicans feel like you are getting betrayed by romney now that he is softening his hard line stance that obamacare has to be removed and will instead be working to change it?

looks like obamacare is here to stay no matter who is elected.

That doesn't surprise me. I'm glad, actually, as I fully support the AHA. I know it needs tweaking...I'm sure that'll have to happen...but, believe me, that individual mandate is never going away. Won't work without it,.

Turns out this is consistent with what he has said since the beginning of his campaign. Way to be on top of it.

The pre-existing conditions reform is the biggest point and he has supported that all around. Have you heard the phrase repeal and replace? It's been the mantra for a while.

Mitt Romney says he will keep the provision forcing insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions. He refuses to say how he can and would accomplish this without an individual mandate.

He also said today that he will let people keep "their families" under their health coverage, for "as long as they like".

Does this mean till age 30? Till age 40? Romney seems to have really stepped in it this time.
