Steelworker Featured at DNC Didn’t Work for Bain - ABC News

The Democratic National Convention on Wednesday featured three speakers billed as “former employees of companies controlled by Bain Capital.”

They each told compelling stories about jobs lost, allegedly because of the actions of Bain under Romney’s leadership. But it turns out one of those employees never actually worked for a company controlled by Bain Capital.

Par for the course

GST would have died 8 years prior without Bain...

Pretty much, yep. Both sides are horrible and distort the truth any time they believe they can gain from it: Disillusioned Obama supporter in Romney add for example + this = perfect example of tit for tat hah :).

Actually, this isn't a distortion of the truth. It's an outright lie.

David Foster - 2012 Democratic National Convention

He wasn't employed by GST Steel. He was employed by United Steelworkers of America...a union.

Well, I cannot read from his speech at the convention that he says he actually worked for GST. He just said he was a steelworker and "I also led the steelworkers in the upper Midwest, including GST Steel in Kansas City". Now he should have said as a union rep for those steelworkers from GST.

It might have given off the wrong impression, but he most have known better than most how these people suffered at the closing of this plant.

Not smart to do, but a lot dishonest as having an RNC long term employee faking being an Obama supporter that is disillusioned, for that is dirty politics and a pack of lies.

Obama did that too... see republican women for Obama lies...

LOL!!!

No, it wasn't "the wrong impression". The DNC outright lied. Read the quote in my previous post. That's the Democratic National Convention announcing this man as a "Former employee at a Company controlled by Romney’s Bain Capital". He wasn't.

Still not nearly as dishonest (or should I say not as dishonest by a long shot) as the republican add with the RNC employee posing as a disillusioned Obama voter.

This tit for tat, back and forth is utter crap. I'd say the only one that was WAY below the belt was the one linking Romney to the woman who died of cancer. Other than that, dishonesty or distortion of facts has been pretty par.

However, as Politico pointed out today, Obama has way outdone Romney on personal attacks of character.

Okay. You go ahead an rate lies by degree of dishonesty. Actually, what you are doing is the old "but the Republicans do it too...but worse" routine. As if that makes a difference, eh?

I'll just continue to point out and comment on lies.

I would say that Obama and his campaign has outdone Romney on blatant lying as well.

I wonder if you partisans realize how humorous an independent finds all this. You lied more. No, you lied more. No, you double lied. No, you triple lied. No, you quadruple lied. My guys lie wasn't so serious. No, your guys lie was terrible but my guys lie was minor.

This "debate" reminds me of when I was in kindergarten.

Both your parties are lying, crooked, self-serving pieces of ****. Talk about a "lesser of evils" campaign. Whichever one wins, America loses.

I'm voting for Gary Johnson who doesn't have enough money to spread lies. Good grief©

I will keep on pointing out republican lies and commenting on it, sad thing for me is that I will have a lot more to do ;)

Okay...I'm sure Gary will appreciate your vote.

But, you know...since you don't have anything to say to the topic of this thread, I feel I can safely ignore you.

It was below the belt, I agree with that, but is the "disillusioned liar" any better?

Okay. You do that.

But, you know...you only damage your own credibility by pointing out Republican lies in a thread about Democratic lies.

My humble apologies. Yes, please safely ignore me.

Do I? Saying he was a former worker from that steel company rather than saying he was their union representative was dumb, but what he said was absolutely his own experience, the republican deceit is so much more devious and dirty and I have the right to point out the hypocritical taking offense from the republicans about this small mistake from the DNC convention organization.

You know...if this thread topic was about which Party lies, spins, smears, etc. the most, then your comments would have some weight.

In this thread, however, they are irrelevant. Your credibility drops each time you make such irrelevant comments.

I'm quite perplexed why you quoted me there, I was saying both parties are horrible and will lie to get their way, as long as it benefits them they're all over it. Definitely not a normal partisan quote but take it how you will.

Dear God read your own article. I'll even make it easier for you by copying this line from the article:

Foster was prominently featured in an Obama campaign video, “Romney economics,” where he is identified as lead negotiator for workers at GST Steel.

Politifact rated that Obama video “mostly true.” Read their assessment.

So desperate to level claims of eqivelence for all that false garbage that flew out of all those mouths at the GOP convention that you end up lying about people lying. :lamo

Do you deny that the DNC identified him as a "Former employee at a Company controlled by Romney’s Bain Capital"?

The ad was labled true. I see your point that a staffer somewhere put that those three worked for GST Steel when it was 2 that worked for GST Steel and one worked at GST Steel. That's digging rather deep, pulling up an itinerary schedule like that to say, "Look at the liars!!!!1111!1!!
