How is this even a debate anymore?

If this election is about the ecomony and jobs, then here is an interesting statistic: Job gains under Democratic presidents vs. Republicans: Since 1961 our private economy produced 66 million private-sector jobs. So what's the jobs score? Republicans 24 million, Democrats 42 million. Repubican policies simply do not work. I wish it weren't true, because in my opinion, the democrats are on the wrong end of the moral spectrum in regards to social issues. But then again, who told all of these republicans to start enforcing God's laws? I thought that it was better to serve God because you wanted to, as opposed to being forced to. If I lived in a culture that practiced arranged marriages, and the girl that married me only did it because she was forced to, that wouldn't be a fun relationship. I wonder how God feels when we try to "force" people to obey him, through our laws.

What were the breakdowns for the legislature during those times?

Scores? Seriously? Are we going to give today's politicans credit or blame for what people did when they were still in high school or younger? Hold them accountable for what they as individuals have done not what their party especially if it was done in the past before they were even members.

If Mitt Romney were to say that since Lincoln was a Republican that he deserves some credit for ending slavery because he's a Republican too it would be laughable, this is the same kind of logic except you're applying it to Dems.
