With numbers like these does obama even stand a chance? No wonder Dem's don't want voter ID laws, if they can't cheat they can't win.

"A majority of voters believe the country is worse off today than it was four years ago and that President Obama does not deserve reelection, according to a new poll for The Hill."

"Fifty-two percent of likely voters say the nation is in “worse condition” now than in September 2008, while 54 percent say Obama does not deserve reelection based solely on his job performance."

"Only 31 percent of voters believe the nation is in “better condition,” while 15 percent say it is “about the same,” the poll found. Just 40 percent of voters said Obama deserves reelection"

The poll was actually conducted by Purple Strategies Research, which is an arm of Rasmussen, a GOP polling firm.

Did you notice the one thing that was missing in this poll? You guessed it. The Obama vs. Romney number. Now ask yourself why a GOP polling firm didn't release it.

This wasn't an obama vs Romney poll, it was a poll on the president and what people think of the job he has done. The answer is they don't think much of it.

Oboma didn't magically fix the economy in less than 3 years, but we are better off today than we were when Obama got in office. That is the truth. There really is no need in distroting the truth. Also, the truth is that Romney has no clear plan to improve the economy.
Simply put, the GOP failed to offer up a better candidate than Obama.

Well that's nice but you are in the minority, the poll does not agree with you. At least you are trying to mount some sort of defense for obama though, you are a loyal soldier. Most libs are running from this thread like it has the clap.

Don't flatter yourself. This thread isn't that threatening.

Whether people think the country is better or that Obama deserves reelection is irrelevant. The choice people have is who will they vote for come November 6th. For most, that's going to be Romney or Obama. If you feel neither deserves to win, well, most people are still going to vote for one of the two. So it really doesn't matter if you think they deserve it. What matters is who you will vote for.

The reality is this is a republican trick of taking moments from time and comparing them. If we were to do that I could certainly point out a number of moments where during the clinton administration we were much better off than anytime in the past 12 years. However, if you want to rate the country's success based purely on the president you need to take the entire term into account. It is pretty amazing if you ask me that obama has turned things around so far. Our economy was in free fall when he took office. you do not just wave a magic wand and erase the bursting bubble. Still, just a couple of years later we have made back most of the jobs lost, saved a huge american auto manufacturer. Jobs have risen steadily in the past 2 years. huge corrections have been made to the abysmal health insurance industry.

it is just a trick to say this moment is not what it used to be. We lost a lot of tech jobs, we outsourced tons of manufacturing, and we collapsed the entire credit industry. i say we are pretty lucky to be where we are just 2 years later. Perhaps we were not in such good shape when we were teetering on the bubble with deregulated credit and banking. One of the reasons we are here is because we got really greedy and looked towards money today from firms like Bain instead of our futures. That is great if you make the right decisions and saved your portfolio. Someone had to lose, and the loss was sold to the middle class as an investment in their retirement. Do you really want to gamble that you will be part of the 1 percent who wins? You had better odds in a casino to come out ahead. Pick a number 1-36 and go bet roulette. you have much better odds than the sure lose of the market made by the rich.

One other thing about poll;s, they are very easy to manipulate. What is the standard sample set for most pols? 1000 people who answer the phone or click on a button. I watched MSNBC the other night and they had a poll that said over 90 percent of the people were going to vote for Obama. I know that is just the people who watch MSNBC, but you really should not hang your hopes too much on a right wing polling organization just like you shouldn't do it with left wing polling organizations. Just for the math, 1000 people is basically 20 per state when you do the math. Could you get an accurate sample of your town when polling 20 people?

but grasp at those straws. You only have 2 months left to do it.

The thing is... the voters haven't had their say. Patience young Skywalker.

The poll is pertinent because no sitting president has been reelected with numbers like these. Add that to the fact that his numbers have been trending down for a while now and you are correct, 2 months isn't enough to turn this around. Say hello to President Romney. :)
