Ryan has an interesting labor day!

Sometimes politicans dont realize how out of touch they are the people of jaynsville WI remind Ryan at labor day parade,,,,,VIDEO: Paul Ryan meets angry protests at Labor Day Parade | Liberals Unite

“[Man #1 approaches Congressman Paul Ryan, pushing a stroller with his wife and sons]

Man #1 holding out hand to shake Ryan’s hand: Congressman Ryan.

Ryan: I’m sorry, I just … [shakes man's hand]. Nice to see you. We’re just getting started here.

Man #1: I just really want to ask you a question.

Ryan: Not right now because we’re just getting started.

Man #1: It’s about the tax breaks …

Ryan (handing man a card): Do me a favor, go to my website.

Man #1: I have. I’ve read it.

Ryan: Then you know what I think we ought to do.

Man #1: I know. And you think the same as Bush, and that’s what I don’t understand.

Ryan: Well, we’re just going to have to disagree on that, okay? Take care, I hope you do better. I want to get jobs, and we just have a different opinion on how to get them, okay?

Man #1: So what should I have to work for to get a job? Should I have to work for the same wages as in China? Should I have to work for one dollar an hour?

Ryan: Have a nice day, all right?

Man #1: Is that the competitiveness that’s needed?

Ryan: Have a nice day, all right?

Ryan’s wife (smiling broadly): Have a nice day.

Ryan: Would you like some candy?

Man #1: No.

Ryan (Laughing, smugly): Would you like a Packers-Badger schedule?

Man #1: We need jobs in this community. There needs to be better jobs in the community.

[Ryan smiles smugly looking away pretending the man isn't there; wife is laughing]

Man #1: What is deregulation going to do? Why should we allow corporations to do whatever they like? Is that the goal?

[Man in green shirt with RYAN on the back approaches Man #1]

Man #1: How can we be at Labor Day when there’s so much unemployment? This is a sad Labor Day.”

I didn't watch the video because I assume this is an accurate transcription of the conversation.

But, let's look at this, eh? Ryan is beginning his participation in a parade when this man comes up and wants to talk. Ryan tells him this is not the time or place since he's part of the parade, but the man insists on talking. Doesn't it strike you that that man was being selfish? Parades are tightly controlled and timed affairs. One person, not moving with the flow of the parade can disrupt it. And here was some self-centered person, who didn't have a care for any of the spectators, causing a disruption. I'm sure that man felt his thoughts matter...and they do...but not to the point of ruining everyone else's day.

Oh, and one other point: Perhaps that man would be better served by asking his question of Obama...after all, Obama has been President for four years and we are no better off now than then.

So now Paul Ryan gets the blame for no jobs?? This is the most negative campaign I've seen in my lifetime. "Liberals Unite" pulls up a year-old story. I wonder how they happened to get that? Obama's missing no tricks. He must be desperate. That gives me hope.

Ha These people are begging their elected official to do something to help as you can see Ryan tries to shut them up with candy , the old go to my website line etc. NOT a very compassionate conservative is he? It is fair to put this out show the Real Paul Ryan
I don't know why you would think its a negative trick it's simply showing how the people of Jaynesville really feel about Paul Ryan. Its not like the video has been altered or taken out of context(the Romney way of doing things) just pointing out the true Paul Ryan.

Aren't you one of the people who blames obama for closing a plant that closed before he gfot into office as the president? Why is it OK to blame Obama for that closing, but not the state representative who voted for the economical practices that trashed the economy in his own state? just another republican who wants to pretend her hero is perfect when all they do is **** up. Your guys are not perfect, they are not close to perfect, and people like you are part of the problem.

Oh that's right "blame Obama" even though those people know Ryan and the rest of GOP made obstruction the centerpiece of their agenda!

I pray hes not compassionate, because we need reality and tough choices, not compassion.

It's the fact it's a year old. It's the fact that this story was dug up to add to the unprecedented negative campaigning going on in this election year. It's the fact that the guy was participating in a parade...a parade...and this guy was ambushing him. Ya' know, he doesn't have Secret Service three-deep to insulate him from the public and reporters.

Why aren't you talking about Obama's record? Got nothin'? If you knew anything about politics, you would know that an incumbent who lacks a record to run on attacks the opposition. Why must you join him?

Why ask the question of your obstructionist state representative in congress who votes for the deregulation of the banking industry and stock markets who caused the problem because of the same reasons that caused the great depression. Surely you understand congress has a part in this? i know Romney says he will do it on his own, but he is not running for king. Paul Ryan has a political record being part of the problem, and we should all just ignore that and pay attention to his marathon running, right?

In all honesty ryan was responsible to the people of his state, which means he was more directly responsible for their problems and failed them far more directly than Obama ever did. So yeah, maybe he should answer to the people he ****ed over for some lobby money.

Oh that's right "blame Obama" even though those people know Ryan and the rest of GOP made obstruction the centerpiece of their agenda!

Obama is the one in charge. Ryan is one of 435 people that can affect legislation. Hes not helpless but hes not able to make the sorts of policy shifts Obama is able to.

Obstruction---2010 was a referendum on the dem party. The voters WANTED them stopped. The House has passed more legislation than the Senate has even taken up.

Because at the start of a parade is not the time or place...unless you are selfish or just want to disrupt the parade.

Perhaps Obama would have had better success by cooperating with the GOP.

Gramm Leach Bliley was the principle cause of the crisis. Both parties supported it and both parties voted for it. The far left and the far right were the principle opposition to the bill and Clinton signed it into law. Dont let facts get in the way of your ill informed diatribe. The ESTABLISHMENT of both parties voted for the act then they also voted to bail out the idiots on Wall St that grabbed onto the tiger's tail with both hands until they got bit. Again the far left and the far right were against the bailouts.

The Washington establishment needs to go. The conservatives are primarying them out, what is the left doing?

Embracing them.

Aren't you one of the people who knows nothing about Wisconsin? Get an education. Borrow the money if you have to.

  • In 16 months Governor Walker has erased a $3.6 Billion dollar budget deficit.
  • Property taxes up more than 40% since 1998 are now down for the first time in years.
  • Unemployment is 7.3%.
  • An increase of 23,000 jobs in 2011 was confirmed by the Wisconsin Dept. of Workforce Development from 95% of actual employers reporting gains (despite an earlier Bureau of Labor survey of only 4% of employers who guessed and reported a loss of 33,000 jobs).
  • Wisconsin’s ‘Best State for Business‘ ranking by Chief Executive Magazine, moved up to 20th from 41st in one year.
  • As a result of Walker union reforms (Act 10), most public employees now contribute 5.8% of their salaries to their pensions. (Why not 50%?).
  • Likewise, most public employees now pay 12% of the cost of their own health insurance premiums. [Bet you pay 20%...if you have a job.]
  • Three months before the election an interview in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel published that “The way the proposal would work is we would take the choice out of the collective bargaining process.” Now many employees love the choice of not having union dues automatically withheld from their paychecks.
  • When Walker did that, the unions orchestrated raucous protests (causing million$ in damages to State property). Senate Democrats fled to Illinois for weeks to block the vote. The bill passed, survived legal challenges and became law.
  • With Walker reforms, the Neenah School District saved $1.8 Million on health insurance and raised the minimum teacher pay by 18%.
  • Milwaukee Public Schools avoided the Walker reforms with existing contracts and have experienced two waves of layoffs.
  • Walker's biggest critic, Mayor Barrett of Milwaukee, should be proud! Milwaukee’s unemployment is over 28%, taxes and fees have gone up 43%, and Milwaukee is the ninth poorest city in the country. And with this crappy record, Wisconsin's unemployment is STILL only 7.3%.

Walker explains: "We didn’t have to raise taxes. We didn’t lay off thousands of public employees. We didn’t cut Medicaid–in fact I was actually able to add more money to Medicaid than any governor in Wisconsin history. And we didn’t use budget tricks. If we hadn’t done what we did, there’s no way we’d have been able to avoid one of those, if not all of them.”

It still portrays the real Ryan despite if it was this year or last year?? As far as being ambushed...what? That is ridiculous you mean to tell me that we can't talk to our elected officials? They do work for us don't they? The last time I checked Ryan was on the bottom half of the GOP ticket since we don't know him it's fair to show people what his constituents think of him.You are so partisan you consider "this" an attack . Seriously we deserve to see what kind of people could be voted in..sheesh it is a choice do I want the stuck up out of touch rich guy with the ayn rand sidekick or The President and Joe.

Ryan did not once fight to keep that Janesville plant open. This was in his district, my hometown. If he was so concerned about jobs and the economy don't you think he would have once fought for the thousands of people who were put to the curb in his own district?

Perhaps Obama would have had better success by cooperating with the GOP.

He tried that, they weren't interested I believe the GOP said their way or the highway...what else is new.

He tried that, they weren't interested I believe the GOP said their way or the highway...what else is new.

LOL!!

No...he never tried that. What was it he said of the Republicans? Oh, yeah...“they can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back”

I pray hes not compassionate, because we need reality and tough choices, not compassion.

I bet Ryan wouldn't have the guts to make the tough choices most Americans are having to make right now. Choices like, do I pay for my medication or food. Choices like, should I eat less so my children have more to eat. Choices like do I pay the house note so I have a place to live or the car note so I can get back and forth to work. Ryan's idea of tough choices is to cut social programs that people need to feed their kids so he can give more tax breaks to the wealthy and corporations.
Ryan isn't bold, he is just another out of touch republican.

Never heard that one but The President won his election with a clear victory I think he deserves to try get his agenda in place, I never saw one example of the republicans even trying to compromise.

When a guy is marching in a parade, that is NOT the time to stop him and try to get your questions answered. You think so? Try it with Obama some time. I don't consider it an attack. I consider your post ridiculous on its face.

Ryan did not once fight to keep that Janesville plant open. This was in his district, my hometown. If he was so concerned about jobs and the economy don't you think he would have once fought for the thousands of people who were put to the curb in his own district?

You can't have it both ways. You say Obama couldn't keep that plant open, even though he said he would support them and they'd be in business there for the next hundred years. Then you say Paul Ryan didn't do anything. WTF did your President do??

"I know that General Motors received some bad news yesterday, and I know how hard your governor has fought to keep jobs in this plant. But I also know how much progress you've made -- how many hybrids and fuel-efficient vehicles you're churning out," Obama said. "And I believe that if our government is there to support you, and give you the assistance you need to re-tool and make this transition, that this plant will be here for another hundred years."

Janesville workers believed him. It didn't happen. Our government gave GM $80 billion under Obama's watch. The Janesville plant is closed. He got their votes in 2008. That's not going to be happening this year.

who would he have fought. Should he have found the nearest UAW leader, and knocked him out for ruining GM or something? Would that have accomplished anything?

Never heard that one but The President won his election with a clear victory I think he deserves to try get his agenda in place,

Yeah, here we called that "a historic unstoppable majority in both houses of congress plus the white house", and he had it. He got what he wanted, and what we are living with now are the results of that.

I never saw one example of the republicans even trying to compromise.

then you weren't paying attention. however, you also didn't see democrats desiring to do the same. the only real compromise we've gotten thus far is that republicans have agreed to continue to let the President spend at his current pace in return for cuts in future budgets.

What irritates me to no end is the continued campaigning against nonsense instead of campaigning on issues. If we can't run on record, I guess we have to run on doing whatever it takes to make the other guy look bad. It's a shame we've thus far been unable to rise above it. And having run on "change" in 2008, I would have expected Obama to exercise a higher standard of politicking, even going so far as to reject third party attempts at character bashing (from his own party and the opposition).

Ok then cite show me where the GOP tried to compromise And I mean really compromise they give and take compromise with this President.
