This is the Democrats' latest battle cry. We're expected to see that time and again in the crowd at the convention.

Is America better off than we were four years ago? Hell yes!! Osama Bin Laden is Dead and GM is alive!!

Its good that Bin Laden is dead but the fact that we had to pay to keep GM alive was a huge mistake and a huge waste of money. Something our government excels at.

It resonates! Obviously because your side didn't accomplish it you can't appreciate the achievement! If GOP had got Bin laden you can bet their convention would have focused squarely on that,He was the evil behind 9/11 not sadam Hussein ... it's a BFD ! So disgusting GOP is now downplaying it.

Of course it doesn't resonate with me... First off, OBL would be dead no matter who the president was, it was the military and intelligence people that found him and set the whole 'kill' up. The only difference there might have been between Obama and any other president, is any other president might have done it sooner, as we have since learned one of his 'advisors' (who knows nothing about this sort of thing) kept talking him into pushing it off, I believe it was said 2 or 3 times.

Secondly, GM being 'alive' is somewhat questionable. They still have loads of 'government' (i.e. our) money. Actual sales vs what they have on dealers lots (which they often claim as sales) is quite different. The Volt was a bigger dud than the Edsel, and a good portion of 'sales' seems to bee fleet vehicle purchases. A company that doesn't sell due to consumer like/demand, doesn't have a bright future.
 
Bankruptcy Court was the honest solution to GM's issues. Follow the money.

Great slogan that should do well with the voters. It takes two much larger issues - foreign policy and domestic economic policy and jobs and sifts it down to a good bumper sticker. I expect this will do very well.

Your "side" didn't accomplish OBL either. That was our military. After the military had been tasked with finding him, during the Bush Administration, they did the "Ready...Aim..." part. The only thing Obama did was say, "Fire." Neither Dems or Reps should be taking credit for OBL. That was our military.

How has your life changed since OBL was killed? How has your life changed since GM was bailed out? (And that's not even a sure thing -- rumor's out there they're going to need yet another one.)
 
I think, in general, we are marginally better than we were at December 31, 2008. Of course, that wasn't too difficult a feat considering where we were at that point.

That being said, I just don't see Romney as being the guy who's going to make it all better. I feel much better letting Obama continue with the very marginal improvements than handing it over to Romney to employ the very same policies that we had leading up to the crash. That simply doesn't make sense to me.

See you just cannot give this President any credit! It's disgusting , your Obama hatred is showing! Bush tried for 8 years wimped out once leaving OBL to escape into the hills of bora bora , it was President Obama who had the balls to take that chance and go after him. You can bet if this mission had failed you repubs would be loading these threads with faux outrage that Obama would dare such a risky mission, risking the lives of the seals etc etc . People like you are so partisan you cannot cheer with the rest of America! We got OBL ! That vile sucker is dead!

I dont think Romney is advocating giving people loans that cannot afford them,one of the big reasons for the downturn....Obama still is though.

Did you miss the part where the President is "Commander in Chief" of the military.

It's also not hard to realize that the Bush administration failed to follow through on their war plan (which was the direct result of the attacks on 9/11 but somehow made capturing the orchestrator of the attacks a back-burner item)

I used to have these terrible nightmares that all the big buildings within miles of me were coming down as Bin Laden rode a great magic carpet made of steel and iron ramming them down like bowling pins. I sleep much better now thank you. ;):2wave:

Romney, through his policies, is advocating that a home, medical care, and education should be a privilege that only the wealthy should enjoy. He's also an advocate of continuing policies that make the deficit worse (according to the CBO).

Seriously??? This administration . This President got OBL if this mission failed I am certain Maggie you would not blame our military, Shame on you people! Of course we are safer with that vile piece of **** dead! As far as the auto bailout we saved an American auto company ! Precious few left , the jobs saved definitely ripples out to all of us , imagine if they went under, millions of jobs would have been lost, it was a bold great move.

BS. We didn't get OBL during GWB because GWB's foreign policy (if you can call it that) was not focused on going after those who attacked us. Think back to school or anything you've ever done in your life.....when you don't focus, you don't achieve the goal. We caught and killed OBL because we had a President that FOCUSED on the task before him. Its an outright lie to say that any President would have gotten him. You guys can't stand it because he was caught and killed on Obama's watch...and so you attempt at every junction to deny him the credit. Fortunately, the American people see right through you.

That would make sense, except we live in reality. In reality OBL was found under Bush's watch. Everything else is just fabrication to help you hate Bush.
