Hey all. I would like to present this petition for you to sign to show whether or not you would support Ron Paul in running as an independent or as a third party candidate.

Even if you do not support Paul or his views, you should still sign the petition to increase the pool of ideas and choices the American people have, as well has foster healthy debate on core issues facing America.

Because really, watching Obama and Romney debate whether or not Romneycare or Obamacare is better isn't going to be much of a debate. Or perhaps how they both support the NDAA. Or maybe how they both agree the president can make the decision to go to war without a declaration from Congress. Or how they both support the federal reserve. Or how they both support wars in the Middle East.

(They're the same person;)

Ron Paul 2012 | It's NOT too late!

Sorry, no can do. I do not support his ideas and would not want to increase the pool with them.

Fair enough, I'm merely asking for people that would be interested in hearing/spreading his ideas to sign=)

Okay... if you are going to spam this in multiple threads, I guess I'll spam my response to it:

Come on... IT'S TOO LATE FOR RON PAUL! For God's sake...

Libertarians already picked their candidate in Governor Gary Johnson. They have a system for doing so. It's too late to be a Libertarian prez candidate for him.

Independent? IT'S TOO LATE! Ballot access standards are different in ever state and signature gathering to gain ballot access is OVER in most if not all states already. It's OVER. Do something with your support other than spinning wheels in mud.

If you say you are going to write him in, you had better study your state's laws on write in candidates. Most states you can't just write in anybody and have it counted. You have to gain access to be a counted write in candidate so if you write Mickey Mouse or Ron Paul or whatever and they aren't approved candidates... your vote literally won't count because it will NOT be counted.

You Paulites... I love your fire but for God's sake stop letting your fire blind you to reality.

Valid points, but a few things to consider:

The libertarian nomination is not set in stone. Gary Johnson could step aside and allow RP to be the nominee if he wanted, or pick him as VP. I don't think it's set in stone until the ballots start getting printed. And I think GJ said something to the effect that he would do this if RP didn't get the GOP nomination, yet that remains to be seen,

Secondly, even if he cannot get on all of the ballots and win the election, the chance to spread the message of liberty to more people would be a worthwhile investment. It could be an educational campaign if nothing else.

And still doesn't hurt to sign the petition does it? ;) Regardless of his "electability" or whether or not it's possible for him to run in all 50 states.
