2012 Republican Platform: To Grow the Economy

Well, see, there is your problem, land lords are a for-profit business. Liberals don't like 'for-profit'. Time to ban land lords.

:lamo

Not sure where you got that. The land lord gets to deduct their mortgage interest as a rental expense, front page of 1040, can even offset other income with it if they have a loss up to $25,000 (phased out at higher incomes.) I don't see anyone suggesting that land lords shouldn't be allowed to deduct mortgage interest and since it's deducted elsewhere it's not part of this conversation at all? Just pointing out that rent or own, you really are paying maintenance/repair expenses either way. Not a special expense only to those who own. Only in the form you pay it.

Not sure where you got that.

Well, I've heard liberals denounce profits as bad for decades. Be it banks, oil companies, or any other industry they don't like.
