Rubio: Republicans "choose more government & less freedom"

I think he sucks ass. And uses the Cuban thing like a whore.

That's weird, because I was just thinking Obama sucks and peddles his Kenyan thing like a whore.

I guess I'm not getting my point across. My point is that he OBVIOUSLY screwed up his reading, and it would be stupid and dishonest of the Obama campaign to try to make an issue of it ... the way that Romney and the Republicans have made an issue out of Obama's "you didn't build that" bobble. My point is that Obama is above that sort of thing, but unfortunately Romney is not.

Well OBVIOUSLY Obama can't use this against the Republicans because by saying "you didn't build that" he's absolved Rubio of any personal responsibility for HIS speech, after all Rubio didn't build that so therefore how can it be his fault! So if Obama is going to stick to his words and not be a freaking hypocrite he's going to have to keep his mouth shut.

He actually said, "We choose more govt instead of more freedom"

This is short clip of just this gaffe...

Cool, got the embed to work... enjoy.

I knew I had heard it too. It was an odd moment because he didn't recognize he said it and the convention moved right along.

The Romney campaign chose an out of context quote as the THEME for an entire day of its convention, and has also used it in countless campaign speeches and commercials.

Yes, the rabbid left is still going on about 'out of context' and 'not what he said'.

The reality of it is he said government is responsible for people being successful, that without government, it wouldn't be possible. The reality is several things go into success... that stuff that 'government' built (ie, our tax dollars built), is available to all, and is only one part, but it is a common among everyone. Thus it must be some other part of that puzzle that is responsible for success and failure. Perhaps that is the 'individual'. You know, the part that he puts down with 'there are other smart people' and 'there are other hard workers'.

Would our economy, the largest in the world, be possible without our Govt? Simply put... NO.

When republicans dismiss stimulus that is directed towards infrastructure as wasteful, they reveal their true beliefs... That they are "self made" and didn't need all that infrastructure to be successful. The reality is... They DID, and without that infrastructure our parents and grand parents invested in, we'd would not be the worlds dominant economy today. No, the part of the stimulus that was wasteful, was the Tax Cuts the republicans insisted on in order to get ANY infrastructure money passed. Then the republicans blame the president for the stimulus not stimulating the economy enough... Guess what, it was 60% tax cuts. I wonder what would have happened if it had been 100% infrastructure projects instead?

You didn't build that Road... You didn't build that school... You didn't build that bridge... You didn't build the internet... The Government did.

There are a lot of smart people in this country... and they know they needed roads, bridges, airports, etc... to be successful. Then there are the not so smart ones, who are oblivious to reality, and think they did it all on their own.

Give the obama campaign the credit it deserves. I don't see them hiring him.

Are you suggesting they only need one Biden 'helping out'?

The OP is just more partisan hackery and someone who frequently hysterically laughs at his own transparent dishonesty as if clever.

Most RNC convention speeches were home runs. But I did not care for Rubio or Rand Paul. I'm surprised Rubio didn't just hold up his hands shouting "Praise the Lord!" He went over the top on religion. Rand Paul saying "unconstitutional!" over and over was an unabashed attempt to transfer Ron Paul's groupies to himself.

I actually thought I saw a millisecond of panic cross his face, but good on him for rolling with it and finishing up.

I guess I'm just getting old, but does that guy look ridiculously young or what?

Seriously? I didn't see the whole thing, but of the ones I saw I wouldn't grade any of them better than a B+.
