If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?[W:296]

Re: If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?

I don't care if he releases any.

Re: If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?

Too bad he hasn't even released one complete return then, eh?

You think Obama released complete returns?

Re: If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?

Romney is not running on his expertise to mantain a house. So I am not interested in looking at his house. He is HOWEVER running on his expertise as a business person so therefore it is only reasonable for me to want to see what kind of businessman he is - which means I want to see his tax returns.
Its VERY reasonable, and most AMerican agree or else this wouldnt be such a huge issue everyday.

Furthermore, it is a matter of TRUST. If Romney wants to win then the American people are going to have to trust him. And we do not TRUST someone who refuses to release his tax returns.
Please. Like you are going to vote for him no matter what he does. Sorry but your screen name exposes you bias so you can stop pretending. What you really want is for him to release his returns so your liberal masters an review them and tell you what to think.
Look if you think he is hiding something don't vote for him. But stop pretending that him doing what you and the left demand is going to effect your vote. It wont.

Re: If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?

I'll tell you exactly what Romney is hiding. He's hiding the amount of money he EARNED. Which is a shame. Because of liberal, progressive class warfare bull****t, a person feels the need to hide how successful they are. In this nation. A nation that once valued success, now makes success something to be ashamed of.

If it weren't for the class warfare mantra that the left peddles each and every day, we would be celebrating our successful citizens, not berating them for being successful.

If Romney hadn't paid any taxes in 10 years, the IRS, under Obama, would have his balls pinned so tight in a vice, we would think Romney was part of the lollipop guild. Fact is, Romney gives more to charity than John Kerry pays in taxes. I don't remember liberals berating John Kerry's wealth, WHICH HE INHERITED! Isn't inherited wealth the worst kind among liberals? Oh, only if it's a Republican who inherits his wealth. It's ok for John Kerry to marry into his wealth though, and avoid taxes on his luxury yaught by registering it out of state and all.....

But the main point is that Romney's wealth is an issue for ONE sect of society.....the class warfare left. The sect of society that has bought into the class warfare rhetoric hook, line, and sinker. The sect of society that has serious issues with the wealth of men like Mitt Romney, The Bush family, and big oil, but doesn't have a single issue with John Kerry, Apple, and George Soros.

Romney is under no legal obligation to release his tax returns whatsoever. The reason he doesn't want to release them isn't because he's "hiding" something illegal or unethical. He's hesitant to release them because he knows the far left is going to berate the fact he's rich! He's released 2 years of tax returns, and what is the storyline of the left? "HE MADE 20 MILLION IN ONE YEAR! HE'S GOT A CAYMEN BANK ACCOUNT (entirely legal)! HE'S GOT 100 MILLION IN AN IRA!!!"

They can't criticize anything illegal or unethical Romney has done. So they criticize his actual wealth and savings. Like I said, it's nothing but class warfare mantra.

Re: If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?

Change the course to what? He hasn't really given any ideas on the economy. All he is talking about is medicare which if he is elected wouldn't go into effect until 2024.

Really? And Ryan's budget? You know, the one that actually tackles of fiscal irresponsibility? Oh, that doesn't count. I forgot.

Re: If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?

Obligatory

Yes, because a budget done in 2013 is going to carry out into 2084

I don't like Obama, but man you guys are desperate.

Re: If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?

It is a distraction-one that may work because perception of a person is everything..but I don't really care.
I think tax rate just shows how the rich operate...lowest taxes in decades+loopholes+swiss+caymen islands+ absurdly low capital gains tax=an economy tilted towards those who are successful. As Romney said, Paraphrase-''I don't care about the poor there's a safety net for them". I don't care about the rich they have their money, i care about those who struggle

If you don't like that tax code, take it up with congress, they wrote it and passed it into law. Do you comply with tax law when you file your return? of course you do, then why criticize Romney for doing the same thing?

this is a tactical distraction from the obama machine, and you know it.

Well actually you are distracting from the point that Romney wants more tax cuts for the rich..Paul ryan is even more extreme and wants no capital gains tax

here we go again, "tax cuts for the rich" you guys are like broken records, the only difference is that broken record do not lie.

Nothing that has been proposed by romney or ryan would cut taxes for only the rich, whereas obamacare will raise taxes for every citizen rich or poor.

I don't want tax cuts for the middle class. Taxes should just be raise a horrifying 4% for the rich...OMG and capital gains should go back to the rates of previous years or that similar to actual income tax rates.
Proof for the bold?

The capital gains tax is a rip off anyway. It hurts small business; punishes success.

Actually lower capital gains tax incentives not growing a small business

Punishes success-that is just rhetoric:You are taxed if you earn money.
The fact is regular income, working income, is taxed higher than income earned from pressing a button. Does that make sense?

It always goes the way of liberal talking points, the thing you conveniently leave out is the cut in loopholes to be revenue neutral. You all bitch about they taking advantage of loopholes along with every other American. But I guess you don't take into consideration tax deduction approved by congress, so I guess your all pissed off that other people do take those deductions. The rest of us is just doing what the IRS says we can do.

you can disagree with the theory if you wish, but the idea of taxing capital gains at a lower rate is to provide an incentive for people to invest in businesses. Investment in business creates jobs, new products, and new markets.

But rather than understand the concept, you libs just buy into obama and his class warfare BS. That is, except rich libs who say they want higher taxes on the rich---but not them--the other rich.

These "loopholes" are the ones predominantly serving the middle and poor classes. Thus you can lower the rate..but closing the loopholes puts the burden on the average American's shoulders

Not to a socialist, it would not make sense. But money invested in new ideas and business is high risk money, and it's called in many cases venture capital. Earning a wage that is guaranteed is not risk money. Thus the lower rate for investing risk capital vs wage income that has no risk is a huge difference. Now when you save your earned income and you invest in risk capital, and you will receive the same tax rate as everyone that is in vested by pushing a button. You should try it some time, however you wouldn't if you don't want to risk your money.

Then you can sure post up what loopholes that the middle class are predominantly taking that would be closed. I look forward to this. Thank you.

Well I actually sited something that shows that a lower capital gains tax is bad for small business.
People will invest to make money no matter the tax rate 15 or 20 percent..especially since they are earning money to push a button
So rather than understand the concept, you Cons just buy into elitism and Romneyhood. My family is in the top income bracket and we do invest quite heavily in the capital gains market and i'm for raising taxes in both brackets

Good for you, then all you have to do to be able to sleep at night is to write IRS an amount equal to the amount of tax you think you should pay. Pretty simple, show by example.

Re: If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?

Okay, I see. I was referring to him having released his tax return for 2010 and an estimate for 2011. From that point forward, he always intended to release his 2011 return -- when it was completed. Your link and his quote is kinda' old news.
Thats the problem with claiming an "always", something a candidate says just 8 months ago can bite him in the rear.....and then he shakes the etch a sketch to start all over again.....thinking some people won't remember.

You are so wrong its really not worth the time to try to educate you. You have been indoctrinated in the left wing, hate success, punish wealth mantra.

If cap gains taxes are raised, the money will go to other coutries which have more attractive tax structures. you lefties complain about outsourcing and foreign accounts, and then you rant and rave for things that will encourage both of those activities.

you are so blinded by your hatred of anyone that does not buy into your social liberalism that you let it cloud your common sense.

"I will close gitmo by january 2010"
"unemployment will not go above 8% if we pass stimulus"
"I will allow no lobbyists in my admin"
"I will put the healthcare debate on c-span"

you are correct, people do remember

Re: If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?

Sorry, I read all three and there is not one specific anything, I asked you to post up what loopholes that the middle class are predominantly taking that would be closed. Can you try again

Re: If Romney Releases Only 5 years of his Tax Returns, Will that Satisfy you?

Apparently you didn't read you own links. The part about ending deductions for middle class folks is sheer guesswork on the part of the opposition. Which Romney debunks a couple paragraphs later:

“I want to limit deductions and exemptions for high income people, but high income people, when you finish going through my plan, and we score it properly, I will not have a plan that lowers the share paid by high income folks or that in any way raises taxes on middle income Americans,” Romney said.
