GOP Consultant: Koch Brothers Bought Ryan’s Nomination With $100 Million Promise

Veteran Republican political consultant, unrepentant dirty trickster, and recently reborn libertarian Roger Stone yesterday published a startling accusation against Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney on his personal website, The Stone Zone. According to Stone, the billionaire Koch brothers purchased the Republican vice presidential nomination for Ryan from Romney in late July by promising to fork over an additional $100 million toward “independent expenditure” campaigning for the GOP ticket.

Any such transaction would represent a serious violation of federal election laws and perhaps other statutes, aside from the ethical and character implications for all concerned...."

Apparently, the wealthy don't think our laws apply to them. Why isn't the DOJ and the IRS cracking down on these crooks?

Gotta be careful with all the conspiracy theories flying around.

But thats what Romney's based his entire campaign on.

Moot you are correct, this is not a conspiracy theory. The evidence of these massive amount's of campaign donation's from casino mogul sheldon adelson and the koch bros, are everywhere. They have corrupted our politician's and have wrecked havoc on our democratic process. Don't let anyone discourage you hun. :)

God I love it. We now have another 'Harry Reid' named Roger Stone. The MSM should have a field day with this ... but, but, but WHERE ARE THE FACTS?.

O well.

I liked it better when the Republicans were the ones making the obnoxious accusations. At this rate, we'll have the democratic equivalent of Rush Limbaugh rise to popularity within the next few months.

I somehow doubt that Romney did anything this foolish. Generally the best way to convince people that your not a money absorbing parasite is to NOT do the things that make you seem like a money absorbing parasite. If he was going to commit political self destruction, it'd probably be in the form of a spontaneous comment... not a contemplated long term pledge.

For now, I'm calling BS.

the tenor of this campaign has suddenly become vicious

Kinda' like "CHICAGO POLITICS".

Or DC politics, Texas politics, backwoods politics, big city politics, national politics, ancient politics, or...

Neither Obama nor Chicago invented "vicious" politics afaict.

Obama and his supporters are desperate. They cannot run on his record. Their only hope is to convince enough voters that Romney would be even worse than Obama has been.

Right, Ford didn't invent the automobile either, but he got it right.

Much like every presidential election in my memory, imho.
It seems it's always a choice between a **** sandwich and a giant douche bag. Yay South Park!

The idea that we choose between two evils on election day is older than anyone who is alive to post on these boards.

No surprise that you've got it backwards. Is Romney running on his experience as Governor? No. Is he running on Romney care? No. Is he running on his Christian faith? No. Is he running on his business experience at Bain capital? No. Ryans budget? No. Medicare? No. Olympics? No. Foreign policy? No. Bush's policies? No. Personality? Noooo. WTF is Romney running on besides EMPTY???

Is anyone really surprise? Both Obama and Romney get 99.9% of funds from very rich people. Since they have 99.8% of the wealth in this country.

You could say the same about Romney too though, I mean he's not exactly running on Romney care now is he?

lol...this is laughable since Romney can't even run on his own record. The flip flop king himself wont take credit for his own policies. Hey keep up the wishful thinking, because its working.:bravo:

That is the million dollar question. But hey, Republicans have an idea right?

Mitt Romney

Try looking for his platform, its quite easy to find if you make an effort. There are all kinds of issue planks there as well. Use the issues tab. Playing this little game that Romney isnt running on anything is a talking point, and a false one at that.

It is a talking point used to cover the fact that Obama has yet to put forward any hint of what his second term might look like.

Thats great and all, but there's no details describing exactly what each of those talking points mean or how he'll go about accomplishing it.

In other words, its just bull****.

Romney can run on reversing or eliminating all the damaging things done by Obama. What is Obama running on?
