Gallup Poll[W:99]

Re: Gallup Poll

It's not the first time -- not even close. Composite polls still give Obama a four point lead after a very small, very short VP bounce. Certainly one of the smallest, shortest VP selection bounces in recent memory. Not looking good for the Ken doll and little Eddie.

Re: Gallup Poll

For the first time Gallup has Romney leading Hussein Obama 45% to 43%.......I believe this is the beginning of the end for Hussein.

No, actually Romney has been ahead for some time according to Gakkup: Gallup Presidential Election Trial Heat Results: Barack Obama vs. Mitt Romney

There is even a pretty picture at the link to show this to you and prove you wrong once again.

Re: Gallup Poll

VP bounce would be short-lived when it turns out that not only does the "fiscal hawk" VP candidate have a ridiculous "plan" to not actually end the deficit, but he's just as responsible for the recent deficit spike as anyone else in congress because he voted for all the major items on the list. (well, except the recession. nobody really voted for that. on purpose anyway)

You lost your creditability with me when you called me a liar on the farm bill and I proved you wrong and not a peep of and apology from you...

Still too close to the announcement of Ryan, to get a clear reading about whether or not this is just a bounce for Romney. The Conventions are going to mess up the polling for awhile. If Romney is still there in a month, we can start talking about whether its the beginning of the end for Obama.

Re: Gallup Poll

Willard still has a ways to go before anyone can call him the winner.

Don't know that for sure yet either the 1-2% Romney's gained in the limited amount of state polling done in the last week hasn't gone away yet. Premature to say it's completely over.

As I explained to you then, the farm bill has not passed the House so you were in fact wrong. Now you could just have been mistaken and not lying about it, but it's been explained to you that the farm bill has not passed the House so your really don't have a leg to stand on. Man up and admit it.

Re: Gallup Poll

Don't worry NP, Romney still hasnt gotten out the big guns to shoot himself with. He's been working with pea shooters so far but I feel he's in the process of acquiring some artillery.

But, I suspect the "lead" will flip flop quite a few more times before this is all said in done. In the end, I believe Obama will slip away with a W because Mittt won't admit that he is (or at least was) a moderate. Until he stops giving handies to the far right, he won't win. He already has the Republican vote so continuing to appeal to them is worthless which is why his choice of Ryan was a weak one at best

Why is that only republicans have to appeal to moderates? I dont see Obama moderating his leftist stance on anything. He is running a base election strategy but no one is complaining about that.

Because Obama already has(or had) that vote from '08. It's Romney's job to take the votes away, which he is not doing. In the end, if both candidates continue to run base strategies, Obama will win out the votes he won from '08

Obama does not have a lock on those who voted for him in '08. Romney only needs to demonstrate that he is an acceptable alternative to Obama. If he has a good performance in debate #1, he will win IMHO.

I think Ryan prefers to go by "McFLy" not "Eddie"...

I could see that happening. But I don;t think that the middle vote will cross the border unless he gives sufficient evidence that he is better than Obama. He has a lot more flips and flops to prove that

I think any moderate can conclude on his own based upon the last four years that Obama is no moderate. If they seee Romney as no moderate either, then they will have to choose which direction they want to see the country go. If no moderates are running, who will they vote for? Who knows? Personally, I prefer a sharp contrast between the two parties over having the two virtually indistinguishable.

Re: Gallup Poll

I don't see anyone that looks at Romney's positions on the issues and say he is not a moderate........

Obama has run center line as president with the exception of a few things. Romney ran centerline as governor with the exception of a few things. They are indistinguishable
