Iowa deli co-owner caters for Obama visit, but his T-shirt tells another story

youre splitting hairs...too bad I cant say the same for Tubby (now the offical name of the fat bald guy in the original picture - see how this works? Dumb fat guy decides to make a statement by wearing a slogan on his t-shirt but do to the back-firing fate of Gotcha politics just turns out to be a butt of jokes and actually contributes to the marginalization of the point he is trying to make...oh, the irony of the American experience...gotta love it!)

I'll rest easy knowing I have much better things to contribute than childish, idiotic insults.

Why hasn't anybody mentioned the "co-owner" of the deli?

from the OP link
His partner, Bret Dalton (a registered Democrat), accepted the work on Saturday while Murty was away in Chicago watching a Cubs game. Dalton volunteered for Vice President Biden’s presidential campaign in 1988, when he was a student at Iowa State University.

I'll bet they have fun in the kitchen

Poetic justice.

It would have been more appropriate if it said first The Republican Lie- and then the rest of the statement.

as has been pointed out ad nauseum, the quote was taken out of context on purpose. however, i'll play ball.

how did the burgers, buns, and cooking equipment get to the restaurant?

also, how did the business owner and his tee shirt get there? finally, by what electronic means was he able to get his protest, which stands to gain him a new conservative customer base, seen by countless potential customers?

having covered those points, did he build those roads and the internet by himself? does his business benefit from public projects?

That's the unsubstantiated assumption you're making. Good job.

By the way, super hard to read your posts with all those damned errors.

Lets make this easy for you. Where did he learn to make burgers? I mean really. Where did he learn to make burgers? At University of Iowa? He learned his skill set for free. Get it free! One more time so you understand, FREE! :hammer: Making burgers and fries is not hard thing to do. You act like he inventing it.

I'm not acting like he did anything. I'm saying you have no idea where he learned what he does. You're the one posting a crap load of baseless, stupid assumptions....not me.

Burgers? :bs Just stop! Making burgers have been around forever. I'm given his credit for putting together his skill set to make income stream. Anyone can make make burgers, In fact, if you go that website call google.com search "How to make a burger" I'm pretty sure there is several techniques that are free. If that doesn't work, then go to the library or Foodnetwork. Guess what?......its all free. That free information. I'm not buying it when he preaching about building by himself. lol I mean come on. :violin

Can't win against blatant idiocy, so I won't try.

no it's you not me, your the one from Texas. Making burgers is not considered hard. Your missing my point and want to turn this into some BS. His skill set allows him to create a catering business model. Good for him. His skill set background comes from a line of information and techniques from a community of cooks and chiefs. You going to dispute that? I WILL SAY THIS ONE MORE TIME FOR YOU.....I'm betting his skill set came from free resource of information by cooking community. That is what I'm betting on. Even if he went to some type of school for flipping burgers, those techniques are for the most part free. I'm not going to sitting all day and go back and forth. If you want to believe this burger flipping man has inventing burgers then be my guess. I have sportcenter to watch planning on making chicken burgers for lunch. Oh my god, I just build that! I'm gonna make millions now. lol

Too bad someone couldnt build that fatt ass a hairline!
That fatass is a small business owner and probably couldnt give a **** about your opinion of him.

oh I am, This whole you didn't build this or I build it, is kinda stupid. The truth, this guy only organized this business. He didn't come up with the idea of catering, cooking, food, business model or any else. The problem have with people like this is the following, everything I mention about the catering, cooking, and etc those techniques or models all came from community people before him, that was FREE. He learn all of skills from community people that shared their ideas, techniques, and models AT NO COST! I'll give his credit for putting all of it together in a package that he can turn into a income stream. But don't me that CRAP about creating it on your own. He full of $hit. Catering have been around forever, I'm betting he model his "business" after someone or a group. Am I lying about that? The most insulting this about is he still uses public road, real estate, energy, communication and the public domain to promote his business free of charge. So fock him.
He uses all those things which he as a taxpayer AND a business owner pays for. My guess...he has paid a helluva lot MORE for those services than you and in fact probably pays YOUR 'fair share' as well.

Guy has a right to his opinion and the right to do this, but IMO the guy is being pretty unprofessional to me. And yes, that would be the same if someone were catering for a Romney event and wore a T-shirt with some political slogan against Romney.
When you read the story you see it was much more likely a joking dig at his business partner...a democrat...who called him up and jokingly said "hey! guess what event WE are catering"

I just see it as unprofessional in general which is something we see more and more in society. It's not what motivated him to wear the T-Shirt that I think is unprofessional, it's the fact he wore it. Regardless of whether it was a dig at his partner or politically motivated by himself, it is unprofessional to me. Again, just my opinion.

Well, I thought it was funny.

Here in the Twin Cities, the frontman for a relatively big Bruce Springsteen tribute band was a big Conservative. He came to the "Rock for Change" show in '04 -- wearing a "Bush/Cheney" t-shirt.

ahhh.......I'm glad that he has a business so he can feed himself. Since he pays for the roads, public domain that everyone else does, he has the right to us it. That is not really my point, my point is this guy didn't inventing the catering business. His model for having a catering business a lot comes for the public domain. That is fact, information, techniques and modeling are all resources provided by the public domain. In fact, he also contributes to the information of the public domain for future citizens to use and start catering businesses. Is that a bad thing? No The fact he was able to put together all it into a package and sell it as a business is great; however, don't take credit as if you invented it. That is my problem with his shirt.

He pays my taxes? since when? I pay equal or more than him or you. so what is your point? If your gonna to debate, please try at least have facts. I live in a city where there are real jobs. It's call westcoast.

Everyone is entitled to that opinion thing.

No one said he invented the 'idea' of a catering business. Can you REALLY be so stupid as to take it down that road? What he DID do was bust his ass along with his business partner to create something from nothing. If you have ever done it, you understand the pain in the ass it is, the long hours, the stress tension and anxiety of making payroll all the while having state and fed agencies watching you and threatening to fine you if you dont have everything turned in just right, on time, and done perfectly.

No...sorry...the individual business owner DID create their business and much to your chagrin you should NOT be entitled to more of their profits. That WAS the message Obama was conveying. It is a lie. You pay your taxes just as every other private citizen. Evens up. The business owner does something you DONT do. They take risk. They put their own skin in the game. They work top provide opportunities, both for themselves and for others.

There is a certain expectation of professionalism when they go to certain places. An event like this would be one of them to me.

Tell me, would you go to a 4-star restaraunt and pay a 4-star price while being served by a waiter that has a T-shirt that says "I'm with stupid"?

Maybe you have lower expectations than I do, I don't know. But attending several mil

Dood was offering catering to a bunch of pool reporters. Bit of a difference. But your general sense of outrage and upset is duly noted. Im sure there will be morons with classless signs and shirts at the RNC and other Romney campaigns and you will have a chance then to lay into them.

WTF did he invent? Burgers? Building a business does take hard work. Nobody, is here is saying its easy. I really have a problem with stupids focks like youself that take credit for crap they didn't create or do. For example, inheriting a trust fund, millions of dollar from death in the family, taking a high-end job position from family business, having grade A upbringing, grade A education background, inheriting a family business, then calling that successful or in your words earning it. That is the world you come from. Truth be told, the reason your parents made life so easy with a silver spoon in your mouth is because deep down inside, they knew you couldn't make it on your own. That is the deep dark secret of most rich families. They don't believe in their children at all. The thought of their children making on their own merit without help is so terrifying that they create a big safety net. And you want to call liberal socialist?

At least this fat, balding, trailer park, good old boy, has more balls than trust fund nutcase like yourself. He didn't have daddy holding his hand every step of the way. lol

The McDonald brothers didn't invent the hamburger either. For that matter, neither did Wendy (or her dad, Dave Thomas).

@VanceMack and tessaesque let me make this easy for you. This guy didn't build it. Yes I said it. Here is the dark little secret that everyone on this thread know, however I have to shed into light, He had a BLUEPRINT! What?!@# I know, your asking yourself why. Because this guy wasn't smart enough to do it on his own. He had to google search "Burgers" "Catering" or I'm betting he stole someone business model and copied it. Do I care? No. He pretty much put this crap together like legos.
