How different is this from other presidencies? We had leaks during Bush and Clinton too. Hell Reagan and Co subverted the entirety of the Congress to sell drugs and guns. Are we really that far out of line with the depravity we've allowed the system to fall into?

Hence the danger of a person who has ZERO military background becoming Commander-in-Chief of the most powerful military in the history of civilization.

Every President elect (between the election and the swearing in) - if they have never been in the military - should have to go through AND PASS an intense one/two week (six days on, one off), 12 hours per day course on a military base; designed by the military to at least give the President elect a small knowledge/understanding/appreciation of the American military both past and present.

It continues to amaze me how people buy into train loads of horse manure these days. Get a few people together who declare (unofficially) they speak officially for a government entity and air it on television and suckers still jump right for it. Post it on Youtube and there should be no question as to lack of verity involved. People will stumble over each other to believe it and pass it on. All shades of the political spectrum do it, conservatives and liberals, special interest groups, you name it. Why? Because it isn't difficult these days to sucker in loads of people who will believe anything.

A recent revelation as a case in point was the story about a Russian sub wandering all around the Gulf of Mexico without being detected. I call bull****. A lot of people believe it. Why would the US Navy lie to the American people? Because it is to their advantage to lie and leak when they lie and leak. It was certainly to the US Navy's advantage. People ate that story up too.

This video just got out and will be devastating to obama. It shows how he has destroyed our intelligence apparatus and put lives at risk. You obama lovers will try to call BS on this but there are certain things that are undeniable.

1 Obama announced we got osama hours after the operation was conducted. This made the intelligence gathered useless because it notified everyone in Alquiada to run and hide.

2 Obama named SEAL team 6 as the unit that killed Osama. This puts those men and their families at risk of reprisal

3 Obama called in Hollywood stars and producers days after the raid to brief them on how the raid was conducted so they could make a movie about it to further aggrandize obama.

These 3 FACTS alone are enough to indict obama and give credence to all the other charges against him.

Exactly. I would submit that more than a few people are going unarmed into the battle for truth. No one, no one, no one questions the fact that billions of dollars are spent annually on advertising, that hundreds of millions are spent on Super Bowl advertising. It is done because it works!!! It is a science and there is only a smidgen of art involved. No one questions that. No one seems to know or care about how successful it is. Why then do they not think that that same science and more is practiced by the government on American citizens? Which by the way is illegal. Not that that matters to government. Why then do people not believe that it is practiced by special interests? It is and in fact it has proven to be relatively easy and successful.

It is one of the greatest open secrets in the history of the United States. It is hidden in plain view. Anyone who wants can read books about it, read online sources about it, read academic papers about it, take college classes about it. Few people bother and more than a few are helpless in defending themselves against disinformation and misinformation and what is sometimes weapons grade propaganda.

Anyone who believes that any future Administration is going to do it less or not at all is a fool.

I am suggesting that I have serious doubts as to its veracity. Further, I am stating that I have no reason to believe it is true. If there it is true I'll gladly accept the truth. There are some people who would prefer to informed and to know the truth rather than to live in denial and willful ignorance. Hell, I often don't like the truth, but I prefer to know it. How about you?

Truth prevails. You don't harm truth by looking for it or by attempting to validate it. That especially applies to politics, and anything involving government is political, no?

Evidence regarding the OP? I haven't seen any. That would explain my reluctance to accept the statements provided as fact, wouldn't it?

If you can give provide me with validation of the statements provided in the OP, I would welcome them. Trot the validation out and show me. At this point I am unable to find it.

My question wasn't pertaining to the OP, it was pertaining to your suggestion that the submarine story was not true. And I see you have provided speculation and conjecture, no actual proof that the story is not true.

Good on you. I have a good friend who is a retired senior chief who was a nuke.

We both know that the navy is hinky about security. The navy would have people pulling security on dumpsters if they had the manpower. Anything to do with subs even more so.

Did it happen? Did a Russian boomer slide around in the Gulf of Mexico undetected? We can't possibly know for sure, and we won't. I'm more inclined to believe it happened, BUT that we knew about it and it was thus not undetected. But let's assume that the story is absolute solid and true. Why in the hell would the US Navy allow that information out?

In the OP we're talking about Obama leaking Seal Team Six and Osama's demise and how damaging that information is. I don't agree with that either, by the way. But, a Russian sub trolls around the Gulf of Mexico and is undetected is serious ****. Heads will roll if that is true. If it is true, would it not be damaging to US security to announce to the known world that the doors are open to US coast? Oh, hell yes!

So what would be the advantage of the US Navy announcing the information publicly? Budget is my first guess. I'd venture to say that the Pentagon might be putting pressure on the White House and Congress not to cut the US Navy's budget. November? Election year? Budget cuts?

As you well know it could be something totally off the wall as well. And we will never know. Hell, maybe they want to draw North Korean subs into the Gulf of Mexico or somewhere else. We know they are dealing with intelligence that is waaaaaaaay above anything they are going to admit. But for whatever reason, the US Navy or any branch, for that matter, is not in the habit of divulging that type of information or volunteering that kind of screw up. It's just not done. The reason the information was released is decidedly NOT because they felt an obligation to tell the citizens of the United States.

For those reasons, I have major doubts as to some or all of what the US Navy said.

I don't know any air boys ( ), but my nub on the boat went into a program where he got commissioned and now flies MH-60's. Was just out in VA Beach earlier this summer visiting him and checking out his ride. Had I not gone subs, up in the sky would be the next best thing.

It wasn't a boomer, it was an Akula, possibly an Akula II. These are boomer killer fast attacks, and they are very quiet.

Could it possibly go undetected? Sure, if we aren't watching that area close. There have been a load of cutbacks in the military, so things need to be prioritized. But then again, some of those cuts are to anti-submarine aircraft, so could they have said it was undetected in order to push to get that funding back? Possibly. But that's just conjecture on both our parts.

We have had sub's in a lot of places that people really have no idea, and have recorded events that people have no idea. So we could have been tracking them the whole time, but certainly wouldn't admit it. If we did, I'd bet I know someone on the boat that did it. But as far as this discussion is concerned, that's all just guessing.

But the navigable waters of the earth are gigantic and one sub is microscopic in comparison. And finding another sub out there isn't as easy as the movies portray... I'll leave that at that without saying too much.

...because after the investigation we all found out that in actuality it had been Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage who had leaked that information???
