Overt Discrimination in Ohio

So you don't think that the interests of farming communities are different than those of the cities?
Of course there are differences, but a person being elected to any given "stripe" district
would have to appeal to a broader range of people.
I would be for taking politics out of the district shapes all together.

Many people do not use absentee ballots and prefer to go the polls for whatever reason. It is unconscionable that certain counties would have longer voting hours than other counties based on who they are likely to vote for. There is zero justification for that.

Having served as an election official on multiple elections and counted absentee ballots ... I would NEVER let someone see how I voted. By the way, if you are not an election official in your own district, you MUST vote absentee, or not vote at all. I wonder if anyone can figure out WHY I stopped being a voting official?

This should also be illegal.

Oh come on now, I hate it when people capitalize every word too but making it illegal?

:D

I think polls should be open 24/7 for a week.

UPDATE: Looks like the Ohio Secretary of State just backed down. Voting hours will be standardized after all.

Husted standardizes Ohio's voting hours | Cincinnati.com | cincinnati.com

:rofl

And the Democrats said:

Some top Ohio Democrats quickly denounced the decision as one that does more to advance the Republicans’ political agenda in the presidential election than to lower voting hurdles.

Ya' just gotta' laugh.

Now after having been amused, voting hours should be the same state-wide. Period. They were dead. wrong.

The "point" would be that representative government is supposed to be... well... representative.

All people have an equal vote so therefore can choose their representatives, so why is this an issue?
