Paul Ryan and the 2nd Amendment

This could possibly make a helluva difference with Conservatives and Independents, alike.

Paul Ryan and the 2nd Amendment « Hot Air

Paul Ryan is pro-gun, to put that issue in the simplest terms possible, how is this different than any other conservative?

In other words, how can you point to something which is common among just about all conservatives and claim it makes him special or more electable than other people?

This is a "check the block" issue not a radical or unique characteristic.

I don't really see how decreasing waiting times from 3 days to 1 is some sort of feather in the cap. Is there something terribly oppressive about waiting three days but not one? How about two?

it makes a small difference because romney even though not anti gun has not been pro gun,his gun policies have been slightly left of center, which for moderates and conservative has been toomuch, considering many other politicians even liberal democrats have been center or right of center on gun control.

The right is busy burnishing their new jewel ;)

Given Romney's supposed lukewarm gun enthusiasm (according to some) I guess he was in danger of losing the 2nd Amendment vote to Obama :lamo

Neither Romney's or Ryan's position on guns makes much difference to me in this election. Obama's does, and it seems to be something like "lets let several thousand guns fall into the hands of criminals so that we can say that guns are getting into the hands of criminals, then we can say that when guns get into the hands of criminals, somebody get killed"

If the liberals are smart, gun control will be a non issue until after the election. Remember the "under the radar" statement.

Perhaps, although I don't imagine too many people who would have otherwise stayed home will go out to vote now specifically because Ryan's stance on guns, and I couldn't imagine the tiny fraction of once Obama supports who are know voting for Romney because of Ryan's gun stance.

Personally I predict a Romney Presidency will be as interested in changing gun laws as Obama was, that is to say not at all but there will be those who constantly talk about Romney wanting to create a "gun mecca" despite his inaction just like there are those who constantly talk about Obama taking away all our guns despite his inaction. But thats just a prediction.
