12 Things You Should Know About Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan[W:418]

Re: 12 Things You Should Know About Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan

Oh, stop. I included the last line on my quote on purpose, to give credence to the idea that Ryan accepts portions of Rand's philosophy and abhors many others, hence why I said it was "more complicated."
Embracing is not a set in stone, measurable acceptance of anything. I embrace many people and ideas, that does not mean I accept EVERYTHING about them.
He does accept many aspects of Rand's writings, he has said it caused him to get into politics, he makes sure her ideas are read by staffers.....sounds like he is "enthusiastic" about her ideology.

I guess you couldn't post Romney's list, too long.:peace

Re: 12 Things You Should Know About Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan

Unless Romney gets assassinated none of this really matters.

So that's why Romney chose Paul Ryan for VP.:peace

Re: 12 Things You Should Know About Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan

thanks for that post
i was on the computer, half listening to that event
thought i heard the gaffe machine say "president" instead of "vice president" but just assumed i had to have been wrong
freudian slip?

I dunno, it looked very official to me. LOL It appears that Ryan is already making Romney look like a wall flower much like Palin did to McCain. A VP seldom helps a presidential candidate get elected, but they sure can help them lose.

Re: 12 Things You Should Know About Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan

It's telling that Romney chose Ryan. It tells us that he realizes that we are in a general election and he STILL is trying to shore up and motivate the right-wing base to actually show up at the polls. He didn't pick a moderate which is where you need to go when you go to the general OR pick one from a swing state you want to pick up. He may pick up, at best, Wisconsin from this decision... (perhaps not though) but he's ignorning Michigan, where he grew up, and Ohio... which are weak for Romney because of his "Let the auto companies go bankrupt" comments. He could've strengthened his positions there...

I don't get why he picked Ryan.

Just put some lipstick on Ryan and you won't be able to tell the difference.

exactly
he needed a candidate who could have drawn from the center
someone who could have taken Obama votes away
ryan is not that guy

appears romney was afraid his base would not show up at the polls if he did not select a winger as his running mate

it's really a shame that the republicans refused to let Gary Johnson play in their reindeer game preliminaries; the GOP would have actually had a candidate who could have won the coming election

Re: 12 Things You Should Know About Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan

There is nothing extreme about cutting spending through worker attrition (not hiring people to fill positions that retire or quit), making fed. employees contribute to their retirement, or overhauling Medicare. With moderates they want to hear ideas and options. They know right now, we are F'ed. They want to here how someone is going to save our programs, cut or deficit, and get ppl back to work. Obama and his campaign can challenge the Ryan plan all they want but at the end of the day the person spewing the ideas is going to win over independents, not the person with no plan who is just attacking and distorting.

Well, I'm an Independent an the party that gets my vote won't be a party that has a plan written in stone with no room for differant ideas and a new way of doing things.

So far what American's policy is ain't working .
When you have a fire in your house you don't try to put it out with gasoline.

America increaced outsourcing that didn't work America went in debt , America had more outsourcing went deeper in debt., America had budget cuts with outsourcing again America went deeper in debt.
Where is America today?
Adopt Ryan's policy America will go even deeper in debt.:peace

That's ok by me Michigan is pretty much ignoring him.
I know the Independents are.
As far as Wisconsin you do remember the teachers up here and what governor supports Romney people of the midwest don't forget and rarely forgive:peace

Because he ran a fantastic campaign in 2008. He was what everyone wanted after Bush. Anti-washington, anti oil companies. Anti war. You may disagree with his policies but his campaign was effective. The question is, can he repeat in 2012? Is that momentum still there?

That is what I was going to say also, but that would be an answer to "how". Maybe Meat will get to that....or it is what he meant to ask....but either way.....why is he asking this in a Ryan thread?

Another "how" answer....and more distraction away from Ryan.
Weird.

Re: 12 Things You Should Know About Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan

13 - Ryan as VP choice is a godsend for democrats everywhere.

14 - Ryan's is only going to be VP.

I mean, isn't that what we were told when that dumbass Biden became Obama's running mate?

Re: 12 Things You Should Know About Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan

I still have no idea why Obama is president.

Because just enough people bought into the hoop-la. Many of those have seen the error of their ways. Probably too many of them for Obama to get re-elected.

Re: 12 Things You Should Know About Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan

Sounds a lot like the OP wanted to smear Ryan with issues where he is spot on. Weird!

It's only wierd for the "fringe", so I guess your a member.

Biden didn't have a radical budget plan that he couldn't walk away from. The Romney/Ryan budget is now front and center. Ryan doesn't gain him one Republican vote and loses him many independents,

I don't think even Steven King or Dean Koontz could write a horror novel as scary as the premise of a Randroid in the White House.
