Fox News poll: Obama's lead grows as Romney's support slips

The debates are going to be a hoot, because last time I checked, no teleprompters were allowed.

You know, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if Obama weaseled his way out of one or more of the debates.

It wouldn't surprise me if Mitt did his very best impression of Al Gore. If you think his likability suffers now... just wait.

Edit: Also he will not have Ann to cover for him. :lamo

see my thread---the democrats are winning. chicago politics of personal destruction works. just proves how out of touch most americans are

You are absolutely right. Obama and his cronies target those who don't keep up with politics with lies about Romney and it works. Time to take the gloves off Mitt.

LOL. The karl rove/ swift boat party complaining about negativity. What happened to your balls?

In addition to your multiplication tables and "see dick run" reading assignment, you might want to do a little reading on robert bork and clarence thomas.

Obama is not going to win by 9 points or evven 7. Last time he got 53% of the vote and had everything going for him. He wont come near that percentage this time.

Edit:

An who the hell is still undecided at this point?

Oh yeah, sure, and if Fox has Obama down, then Fox becomes 'Faux' and is horribly biased and 'in the tank' for Romney. Thanks for adding to the humor of the thread.

It is Faux News, regardless of how they are reporting on Obama results. It is only Fox when one wishes to be polite. The name, however, never changes the core fact that it is always news filtered with Red State glasses (propaganda).

That said, nothing is more credible in stating the war is being lost than the propaganda machine of the enemy admitting they are losing the war.

PS - it is only a single poll in August before people are really paying attention. So, while it is fun, it doesn't mean to much.

Obama is banking on more losers voting than winners or more people who have conceded they don't have what it takes to be a winner voting

Only those who can handle another recession should vote for Romney. I see you have aleady stepped up, Bravo for you.

9 points!! Oh crap, huh?

I'm surprised I'm the first one to post this. The polls that show Romney in the lead or somehow paint Obama in a negative light get posted here on DP right away.

Strange, this one's been out for a day and... Oh well.

I will take the likely voters over the registered voters nytime...........Because your trgistered to vote does not mean you will.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 47% of voters nationwide, while Pr
President Obama earns the vote from 43%. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

And if you want a huge tax increase for everyone, inflation and 6 more trillion on the debt vote for Hussein Obama.........

Mittens...remove your MITTENS!!!!!!!

Whata bumper sticker!

It's pretty funny to see people who are usually the 'type' to say 'Faux News', and complain about their bias, using them for a source.

It was intentional.

But I think you know that.

Don't worry, Mitt will get a bump from the convention... then, in the weeks right before the election, as Ryan's plan is parsed and analyzed and explained to senior citizens... his campaign will begin circling the bowl at around 20 points back... Then flush.

The Ryan plan does nothing negative to seniors. NOTHING. Anyone 55 or over will see no changes in SS or medicare. There are no 'granny over the cliff' clauses in the Ryan plan. What it does is fix SS and medicare in the long term. When the people hear the truth and not the chicago obozo lies, they will rally around Romney and Ryan, because they speak the truth.

That's all propaganda, you've been brain washed. Anyone with brains is buying stock in dog food companies. Alpo has gone up 50% since the Ryan announcement.

Great, your post hear on DP can be heard louder than the commercials playing all over the country saying different.

My point: RYAN is the worst possible choice.

Baby boomers and seniors hear medicare reform and they want no part of it.

Remember old tea bagger lady -- "Keep your damn Government hands off my medicare." You think she'll gas up the car, drive to the polls to vote for PeeWee Ryan?

Not a chance in hell.

Mitt just threw in the towel.

Hardly. Ryans addition will make this election one of substance--budgets, debt, tax reform, entitlements, the fiscal cliff, Obamacare--things Obama doesnt want to talk about. Your hope is that there are too many people dependent upon government handouts to elect into power those who wish to scale those things back. You might be right. And if you are, the nation is doomed anyway and elections will simply determine how quickly we commit fiscal suicide. But elections at the state level seem to indicate that people recognize the necessity for reform, so you may want to hold off counting those chickens.

With Obama it is everything but his record, and it is that record which his supporters don't seem to know about nor care about. Substance has no place in an Obamabot's world meaning there are more leftwing voters in this country than most want to believe.

Do you have anything to say about the poll, are you just going to ramble on about random stuff?

Problem is.... they wont talk about those things, because Romney will too busy deflecting Bain and refusal to release tax returns attacks. He been doing it for 2 months now and just ignoring the problems wont change a thing. People wont trust a man who tries to hide things that are important.. and yes tax returns are important to most people.

CNN only has Obama ahead by 7 points.

Seems like Fox is in the bag for Obama.

I know you're being facetious but polls are not about advancing a particular side. I do think many people think they are however. Polls are about seeing who or what the public favors at the time the poll was taken. If a Fox News poll says Obama is favored over Romney its not because that what Fox News wants but rather according to their own scientific research the public at this time prefers Obama over Romney.

Today Paul Ryan is being announced as the GOP veep candidate. This is a feel good moment and I'm betting Romney gets a boost in the polls as a result. Whether it will last, ah don't be knowin'.

The poll is what it is and shows that in early August there are more Obamabots than most believe and if that holds doesn't bode well for the country for the next four years. What that poll seems to show is that the politics of personal destruction work at least in the short term. 23 million unemployed Americans, 5.4 trillion added to the debt in 4 years, 4 million fewer jobs, a lower labor force, crony capitalism, a govt. central economy don't seem to resonate with those supporting Obama who appear to be the most ignorant among us.

The debate of his record is valid, but it has to be linked to how the economy was when he took over, and who was responsible for this. As long as the GOP and Romney refuse to do this, then there will never be a debate on Obama's record. And it wont matter since the debate right now is about Romney and Bain and Romney and refusing to release his tax returns... plus his many gaffes and "out of touch moments". Just this week Romney went to some state to talk to farmers... and chose a guy who not only is a multi-millionaire but owns 50+ farms and lives in a house that is bigger than what Romney has! Talk about being out of touch with the average American lol.

Romney's tax returns won't put one of the millions of unemployed back to work, increase economic growth, lower the deficit, or reduce the size of govt.

You can only blame the inherited economy so long for here it is over 3 years after taking office and most of the results are worse than when he took office. Too many don't understand leadership but those that have been leaders know you don't delegate responsibility. The economic results today are Barack Obama's period. He commissioned Bowles/Simpson then ignored their results. He formed a jobs commission and hasn't met with them in the last six months, he runs as an outsider after controlling the economy for over 3 three years, he promotes green energy without a market for green energy. He lacks any leadership skills but his supporters don't seem to care. Why don't you care about his results?
