I heard a guy today speculate not all republicans are happy with Romney. The Tea Party especially isn't thrilled with their up until recently liberal to moderate GOP nominee. Secondly, after saying what a failure Obama is the second favorite pastime of party pundits and big-wigs alike is bashing Tea Party heroine Gov. Sarah Palin as a totally unqualified choice for VP and the worst mistake McCain made in 2008, something Romney won't repeat in 2012. Palin was one of the only major GOP figures not to endorse Romney and it was recently announced she'll be speaking at the convention. Wouldn't it be interesting if she puts her criticizers on blast, stands up for Tea Party values and fails to wholeheartedly endorse Romney? You have to admire Mamma Grizzly being willing to stand up against her own party when she feels they're in the wrong. She became Governor of Alaska standing up against the AK GOP establishment.

I expect a lot at the strip clubs...those Republicans do love their strippers...

Republicans Spend More At Strip Clubs Than Democrats

The New York Times is the latest media outlet to break the story that Tampa strip clubs are getting ready for the Republican Convention, a story we broke here at OTB days ago by the way, but this tidbit in the middle of the piece is what caught my eye:

Angelina Spencer, the executive director of the Association of Club Executives, which serves as a trade association for strip clubs, said an informal survey of convention business in New York and Denver had determined that Republicans dropped more money at clubs, by far.
“Hands down, it was Republicans,” she said. “The average was $150 for Republicans and $50 for Democrats.”
I report, you decide.

Palin will not do anything to embarrass herself or the party at the convention. She will follow orders and fall in line with all the others on the right.

I thought she was still on the bubble with Trump.

While there are conservative Republicans who are unhappy with Romney being the nominee, none of them will do anything stupid at the convention that would damage their future with the Republican party.

This. Both conventions are going to be carefully scripted and very tightly controlled with an eye towards improving the chances of their chosen candidate. And while some may not be happy with the choice of Romney, he is who the people chose. The republican convention will have no unhappy fireworks.

Lordy, I would so love for the Republicans to nominate someone else. It'd be nice if all that money the Obama campaign has spent on diggin' dirt went to waste. ;)

Hell, I don't think they can win . . . they may as well throw a Hail Mary.

If youre going to use a story byline you ought to source it. I know your new here, though just thought Id let you know.

It is kind of funny how, for Republicans, party supremacy is taking precedence over ideology. Those voters who don't want Romney are going to fall in line, and compromise their values in order to keep Rs in power over Ds. Their own aims won't be furthered, but the aims of some corrupt bureaucrats over other corrupt bureaucrats. I guess a whole lot of you are just RINOs...

I guess a whole lot of us are working hard on down ticket races and primaries, you dont change things overnight. It takes time.

The convention, the VP choice and the Debates are all romney has left to secure the Presidency...they will all walk on broken glass at the convention not to make any misteps to hurt him at this point

It's a known fact that Democrats are very free with Other People's Money.

With their own, not so much.

Republicans Versus Democrats - Why Some People Give More To A Charity

As for the OP, no. Romney is America's best chance to unseat Obama, and Republicans understand that removing Obama is the only thing that matters at this point in our history. Until the lamestream media (AKA Obama's Department of Disinformation) gets reigned in, a true Conservative has exactly zero chance of winning the White House.

I don't like it either, but them's the facts.

Romney is the nominee. he'll most likely pick someone more conservative than himself as VP in order to placate the right. if they try to replace him now, it will look like a clown show. this would hurt the Republicans in 2012, and it could also hurt them in 2016 if he loses.

A well known fact according to who? The blogger you quoted from 4yrs ago? And if you take out religious charities, what does that do to the numbers? And what does this have to do with Republicans loving their strippers?
