Are the dems getting desperate? [W:33]

With all of the personal attacks and absolutely no mention of the economy it seems that the obama reelection campaign has degraded to typical chicago tactics. Refuse to talk about your record and make up stuff about your opponent. Obama did it in his Illinois senate race and his US senate race. Personal destruction by lies and innuendo. and with a biased media that are nothing but parrots of the dems.

Is this what American politics has degraded into?

LOL. Do you even know who he ran against in the US senate race? He didn't need to do anything to win against his opponent that year.

Are people who start these threads oblivious to the fact that they look more desperate, degrading, or whatever they accuse the others of being? I doubt it

Do you listen to the news? the dems have attacked Ann Romeny for a shirt but said nothing about Michelle wearing a $7 jacket. they have attacked Romney on just about every topic they can think of--all baseless. they have attcked their dog and their horse.

I know what you mean.

I hate the way the left keeps bringing up Romney's birth certificate or complaining about him not wearing a flag pin. Oh and the media is the worse !!!! Remember when MSNBC made a big deal about Mitt giving his wife Ann a fist bump at a rally and they said that it was a "Terrorist fist jab".

They know that Romney is a terrible candidate and that he really didn't even want to be President otherwise he would have had his finances in order. What else do they have but desperation.
 
The answer is yes, but no more than any other election. Candidates of both parties typically try to avoid their political tar babies during election season.
 
I think it's safe to assume that most people will not vote, and of those who do vote, only a few of them will vote based upon the candidate's actual political platform.

Almost 6 trillion added to the national debt in just 4 yrs, unemployment at over 8% for over 40 months, and an economy stuck at 1.5% GDP. This is what your guy has to run on.

A good portion of that debt can be attributed to A. The slowed economy B. Tax cuts and wars enacted by the previous president(Don't say all liberals do is blame it on bush--fact is a fact)
Romney's plans start with tax cuts for everyone-even those who don't need it-and an expansion of the already bloated military.

There's truth in that, but the "bloated military" thing is getting thin. Folks need to realize, if the military were so bloated we wouldn't have to be calling up National Guard units to fight the wars.

I don't see someone like you even willing to reasonably engage in anything that might shatter the illusion of your messiah. It's no secret now that the Obama Campaign's strategy is to obliterate the other person with lies and smears. If you rationally look at every election Obama has participated in as a candidate, his tactic has been the same. Offer no real solutions, run on emotional platitudes and slogans like Hope and Change, and hope you embarrass your opponent with lies and smears and other nonsensical garbage to limp across the finish line.

If I were you I would be embarrassed that I fell for such thuggish political ploys, but here you are on a political form, using diversionary tactics such as mock and ad hominems because you're living in denial.

Our Navy fleet is half what it was under Reagan. The United States has had a policy since WW2 to always be able to fight 2 major wars at the same time. Under Obama that has changed.

National Defense is the fundamental purpose of our Government. To protect our freedom, private property rights, and the opportunity society. Liberals act like that is the magical piggy bank that will make their neo keynesian, demand driven wealth redistribution schemes work. It's one massive strawman. Cutting the US Military is not going to reduce unemployment. It's not going to generate wealth, new opportunities, or prosperity.

No, it really won't. The budget breakers are largely high ticket items that have already been contracted for. Cut those off and you're looking at massive unemployment in those sectors and more arms sold to foreign sources (the defense companies will try to stay in business and profitable).
