So... who else here is considering him over the other two?

Obama, Romney...political jackasses.

Johnson...political common sense and decency.

I am not in a swing state, and my state will vote send all of its votes to Obama.

I will more than likely vote Johnson.

Considering it, but that's only if Romney completely loses me by that point. Which is entirely possible.

Ive taken a few of those online test on which candidate to vote for and twice its come up for Johnson.Ill probably vote Romney, but Johnson is worth looking in to.

Being from Illinois, my vote has absolutely no chance of counting if placed for either one of the main party candidates.

If I vote for Obama, he will win all of the electoral votes from Illinois.
If I vote for Romney, Obama will still win all of the electoral votes from Illinois.

The only way that my vote can count in any way is to put it toward Johnson as a form of voiced protest. The only viable alternative for me is to not vote for president at all, which does absolutely nothing.

If you are in a swing state, a vote for Johnson, Paul, or anyone except Romney is a vote for Obama. If you are in a solid blue or red state and it makes you feel good to cast a protest vote, fine, do it.

What we really need is "none of the above" on every ballot. Make them keep redoing the elections until we get someone we can vote FOR.

I've got a Gary Johnson man-crush. The only thing I don't like about Gary is that he doesn't stand a chance in the face of millions of voters who think that their only choice is selecting the lesser or two evils.

Whats the point? I guess it might send a message. But IIRC my State is pretty Blue, and its not a swing State.

Then your vote doesn't matter anyway, so at least you can use it for something useful, even if that something useful is nothing more than a fairly impotent message.

Then move to Nevada. They have a None of the Above option on their ballots. But hurry, the GOP is suing to get it removed.

I think being in the debates can change that. But getting into the debates is a monumental task inandof itself.

Not in a swing state (TN) and my vote goes nowhere for either of them. I certainly have considered voting for Johnson, if for no other than reason than to show that some people do consider 3rd party candidates and there should be more than just 2 friggin' parties in every election

Can change what?

That he doesn't stand a chance? Or that he may get a few percentage points of the popular vote?

I think if he'd been given equal footing with the other candidates for the Republican nomination he would've stood a much better chance. The man's not a crackpot, and he shouldn't have been handled by the media as if he is one.

One thing that really hurt him was how every time a debate rolled around, the rules were tweaked from the previous one so that Johnson was just barely ineligible.

Debates got Jesse Ventura into the governors house with 1/10th the money of the other candidates. Debates change things.

The "Oops" incident really hurt Perry, along with some of his other speech errors. Debates can help a bit, but they hurt more than anything.

Ever shifting goal posts. That's how they handle third party and non-establishment candidates.

A great quote by Gary Johnson in the debates was "I'm at least still liked in my state."

I'm voting for Johnson.
Obama is a ?
Romney only likes Mormons.

I was speaking about the general, not the primaries that have already passed.

Could you document which debates apparently tweaked rules relatively close to their occurence from ones that would've allowed johsnon to participate to ones that barred him from doing it?

Not true. He likes "the blacks" too.

On a serious note, I don't think you have a leg to stand on by saying he only likes mormons. That's just ridiculous.

I think Debates can change things, but I'd put more stock in the Jacksonville Jaguars winning the Superbowl this year then I would in the debates allowing for Johnson on the Libertarian ticket to get more than 10% of the popular vote let alone winning it. It's possible but....highly, highly, highly improbable in a historical sense and in terms of general political theory.
