Star of an Pro-Obama Ad Isn't a Big Obama Fan

Oh noes, the horror of it all - another one of us labour union supporters who criticises the President because Obama isn't really a progressive. The sentiments expressed by this ex-steelworker mesh with those of lots of Americans. They are precisely why the anti-Obama numbers look so bad for him, well they do until you dig down and find the problem some have is that they see the President as being too friendly to the corporate interests.

I cannot see these citizens voting for a guy who is even more in the corporate pocket. Problem for the Obama campaign is whether or not they can inspire these disillusioned progressives to get up and vote for the only candidate who will at least do a little bit of what they want. Obama's people will need to convince the disillusioned that staying home in November will be far worse for them and their families than re-electing Obama.

Republican obstructionism against legislation that would really help working-class Americans, stuff like the GOP's refusal to allow tax incentives for companies that bring jobs back from overseas, does seem to show that corporate interests (the 1%) are more important to it than any serious attempt to help the US economy.
