Condy Rice for VP?

I can see this. I think it would beneficial for Romney. But i seriously doubt this will actually happen.

Rice would guarantee a Romney defeat. As Bush's National Security Adviser she rejected the warning from CIA director Tenant of an impending al Quaeda attack. She was a major proponent of the Iraqi war and duped by the false intelligence pointing to weapons of mass destruction. Her nomination would guarantee a rehashing of the entire war. The Obama administration would love the opportunity to deflect from the economy. In addition she is pro choice and would splinter the conservative base.

I think anyone who looks to Drudge as a source of truth and light is someone who is comfortable living in the dark.

She is certainly some one that the Romney team considered, so there could be some truth to this.

Here is the source story: DRUDGE EXCLUSIVE: ROMNEY NARROWS VP CHOICES; CONDI EMERGES AS FRONTRUNNER

...And a surprise name is now near the top of the list: Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice!

The timing of the announcement is now set for 'coming weeks'.

MORE

It was Condi who received two standing ovations at Romney's Utah retreat a few weeks ago, and everyone left with her name on their lips. ...

Yeah, I have to agree with that. While Rice is brilliant and is certainly qualified, she would be a reminder of the previous administration’s failures. Romney should be trying to distance himself from the Bush administration. Rice and Powell are both intelligent and extremely capable public figures whose reputations have been soiled by the Iraq fiasco.

I like condi rice and always have and if she was running for president, I would vote for her, but if she is Romneys VP...Im still not voting romney.

DRUDGE says she tops the list.............what do you think?

It's a red herring to draw attention away from the pick, but that still puts Romney at the top of the news cycle.

The first thing that comes to my mind is that as an individual Rice is probably the most brilliant, intellectually speaking, that we've had in a cabinet position for decades. I think most would agree with that. Obviously intelligence and brilliance doesn't equate to making good decisions on policy, or an agreement on those issues, but still she is fantastically bright.

Hah, even if Republicans were to lose the election they would get a minor consolation prize in watching Vice President Biden get drubbed back and forth across the stage.

I think Rice would be an outstanding choice and add a lot to the ticket. However, I think that the floating of her name is more likely a red herring then a legitimate possability.

Current DOE Secretary Steven Chu springs to mind -- winner of the Nobel prize in physics....

I think Dr. Rice would be a great selection for VP.

Those who either don't vote or who vote for someone other than Romney are, by default, casting a ballot for Obama.

And . . . . . ?

The Nobel Peace Prize went to Barack Obama before he was elected POTUS. What had he done, one the world stage or anywhere, that the Nobel Committe found that qualified him for this prize?

Comparing the peace prize to the physics prize is like comparing apples to orangutans.

It seems like a potentially good idea. But I don't recall all that much about her, it's been a while since she was in the spotlight. Where does she stand on most things?

That was after he was elected. Not that it means he deserved it, but the "accurate timeline" stick up my butt requires that we get it in the right order.

I'm voting third party in protest to the ****ty selection, and because I can't in good conscience vote for either Romney or Obama.

So when I likely cast my vote for the Green Party candidate does that mean I am still voting for Obama? That would be awesome because then I could get my Democrat friends to stop telling me I am by default voting for Romney. :)

And I am with Lokiate, even though I doubt he is voting Green. I think people who are fet up with the Reps and Dems should vote third party because, frankly, it doesn't matter which of them wins. By voting third party we at least are not contributing to their popular vote and thus make it less likely that whichever one of them wins can't claim to have a mandate.

Interesting, I just read an article on Drudge Report stating that Conservatives <that means far righters> arent warming up to a condi rice VP...shes pro choice and a couple of other reasons....I go back 5 mins later and that article is POOOF gone...I guess some of the right didnt like that article and gave him his marching orders

I would welcome it. The best move Romney could make would be Marco Rubio since it would both cinch Florida for the ticket as well as give them the opportunity to make inroads into the fast growing Hispanic vote. Rice would derail that possibiity so it sounds good to me.

Still doesn't answer the question. And if they give a Peace Prize to someone who has done nothing in that arena, then the credibility of the Physics Prize award could also be questionable, yes?

I stand corrected.

****, this is the first time I ever went full Libertarian. First likeable candidate (my opinion) I've seen from the Libertarian party, though he hasn't got a snowballs chance in hell of winning.

That would fit right in to the fact that they never liked Romney all that much to begin with.

Though it's odd, because I can't remember the Vice President setting abortion policy on a Federal level.

In theory the credibility of the physics prize could be questioned, but in reality it is a highly prestigious prize that no one really questions (unless they are trying to fling poop on Gore or Obama related to the peace prize).
