[FONT=georgia, serif] Seems its split evenly for and against at this point and only 3 out of 10 or 70% does not want it repealed in full.

Americans are sharply divided over the Supreme Court's healthcare decision, with 46% agreeing and 46% disagreeing with the high court's ruling that the 2010 law is constitutional. Three in 10 would like to see the law repealed in full.

64% say politics played a role in the SC decision. They think Obama's intimidation of Roberts worked. Independents favor repeal of the law 49-40 which could work out to Romney's advantage.

It bears repeating that over 10% of those who say they don't like Obamacare don't like it because it isn't liberal enough. In other words, a minority thinks its too liberal.

This poll shows that certain components of the law are very popular and enjoy a high level of support. Every national Democrat running this fall should make the popular components of the Health Care law a key issue in their campaigns. They should stand tall and proud and ask over and over and over again to the people before them

DO YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR KIDS INSURED TO AGE 26?

DO YOU WANT PROTECTION FROM BEING CUT OFF WITH PREEXISTING CONDITIONS?

DO YOU WANT PROTECTION FROM SPENDING CAP LIMITS DICTATED BY GREEDY INSURANCE COMPANIES?

and so on and so on.

And don't forget this one: DO YOU WANT YOUR TAX RETURN CONFISCATED TO PAY FOR YOUR FREE HEALTH CARE?

Americans don't like thinking for themselves, and enjoy government leveling the playing field against independently smart and responsible citizens.

No surprise.

The job of reforming health care is not finished. There now will be more Americans covered, which is a good thing, and we will be paying for fewer deadbeats who don't have insurance and can't pay, which will help. Individual responsibility is generally a good thing. Costs, however, are not likely to go down significantly if at all. If costs are not controlled, and soon, medical care will bankrupt the nation. consider this:

Percent of the GDP consumed by the federal government is about 21%. The cost consumed by health care is more like 17%, so you could conclude from that the feds spend more than we spend on health care, but wait: There's an overlap.

The total consumed by Medicare/Medicaid, which is a part of that 21%, is in the neighborhood of 10%. Take that out, and all federal government spending for non medical expenses is 11% of GDP, or around 1.6 teradollars, while the cost of health care is more like 17%, or 2.55 teradollars.

and the cost keeps going up, and has for decades.

Of course, the increase from here on will be attributed to Obamacare, but that ignores the fact that it has been going up for a long time.

and nothing has been done yet to stop it.

I dont think romney is going to get a big boost out of this jerry...I think all the mouthing off the far right did before the decision when they were over confident it was going to go down hurt them....they were already talking about killing the rest of the bill when the mandate went down...some of them had to issue retractions on tweeter for pre running their mouth

I am always surprised when anybody in the world of politics assumes anything. It wasn't just the "far" right talking it seemed to be all republicans. But if I was Romney I would just emphasize the deception used by Obama to push this through Congress. After assuring the American people it wasn't a tax and then arguing before the Supreme court it's constitutional because it is a tax is hard to defend.

I wouldn't. That would mean he lied about never raising taxes in Massachussetts. Is that something he wants to say?

So just who will have this done and how many people will that be compared to the others who benefit from its provisions?

Here is the oped that appeared in USA Today in 2009 that Romney wrote urging Obama to slow down, reach across the aisle and insure that he get his health care reform correct. In it Romney writes that his Massachusetts plan used tax penalties and tax credits to get people to comply with the law. It looks like he's been a lot more honest than Obama.

Our experience also demonstrates that getting every citizen insured doesn't have to break the bank. First, we established incentives for those who were uninsured to buy insurance. Using tax penalties, as we did, or tax credits, as others have proposed, encourages "free riders" to take responsibility for themselves rather than pass their medical costs on to others

Damn, and here I've been sending my tax return to the IRS every year anyway!

You've got to be joking. Romney said that the penalty was absolutely necessary to the reform. His response to the SC decision was that he would essentially do all the good stuff that O'Romneycare does ... but repeal the part that's necessary to pay for it. Suuuuper honest.

You're supposed to send a tax return to the IRS every year? Ruh roh!

That's all true but the provisions you listed could have been regulated to private insurance companies without requiring tax increases. Insurance companies would just price the requirements into the premiums. Those with insurance are paying for it already...The xx whatever uninsured AND cannot afford HI could be captured in expanded Medicare/Medicaid. These two things would have addressed the VAST majority of issues that PPACA claim to and be WAY less complicated...and in the end NONE of it addresses the root issue...MEDICAL cost.

I'm not a fan of ObamaCare/RomneyCare.

Therefore I won't be voting for Obama or Romney.

Know what else it does?

Taxes the hell out of durable medical equipment, prosthetics and day to day disposable medical supplies. How does that drive costs down exactly? Logic would tell you it would do the opposite.

Yep, people love the "freebies". Won't love the taxes, the costs, and the destruction of the healthcare system.

Why am I not surprised? Of course you would do something like this. No doubt you will downplay all the negatives while at it.

Of course no one will be fooled. People are not near as dumb as you wish them to be.

Bold: Actually quite the opposite. If the whole idea behind this POS legislation is to spread the costs then how is that any different than what is going on before it was passed? I mean come on....do YOU know of any deadbeats that work and pay taxes? How many do you know of are not on the dole already? IE you will still be paying for them because now they will get gaurunteed government insurance. Indeed you'll more than likely be paying for MORE "deadbeats" as those that didn't have insurance because they didn't qualify will now be eligible.

Obama's intimation of Roberts???????? ROTFLOL and about to bust a gut.

I know you don't know this yet, but this party is over. Romney has zero credibility on this issue, since he is the guy that turned the concept of the individual mandate into law. Anytime he spends critical of ACA is wasted time for the Romney campaign. If he wants to take the bait, let him. But a smart Republican knows this battle is over and its time to move on.

Look for Obama to pick up quite a few points in the ensuing polls. Overcoming this Republican challenge to his landmark piece of legislation is going to make him look like a leader; a guy that gets stuff down in spite of the ball and chain that is our 21st century Republican Party.

Obama and his surrogates and supporters in the media telegraphed the mode they were going to go into if it was overturned. They were going to go into overdrive attempting to de-legitimize the court. If it was overturned that was the meme to be played and it was foreshadowed in some outlets if you cared to look.

I sincerely hope you think this fight is over. The conservative base will be more energized than ever, if you think you have already won, you will not be. We most definitely will be energized and ready.
