Daily Presidential Tracking Poll - Rasmussen Reports™

Friday, June 22, 2012
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Mitt Romney attracting 48% of the vote, while President Obama earns 43%. Six percent (6%) prefer some other candidate, and another three percent (3%) are undecided.
The president picks up support from just 35% of white voters overall. That’s eight points below the 43% of the white vote he won in 2008. Among white Democrats, 17% currently plan to vote for Romney.
Just 33% now believe the president is doing a good or excellent job when it comes to the economy. That’s down from 41% at the beginning of May.

Bloomberg poll has Obama with a 13% point lead.

Still too far out for these polls to mean much.

True but if you look at the tracking polls over the last couple of weeks Romney has caught up and is gradually pulling away from Hussein Obama.......The white male vote is really amazing..........

Bloomberg has always polled more democrats then republicans and Rasmussen is a registed democrat so I would stick by Rasmussen....In every election they always come out the most accurate at the end, but your right it is early.....Something for us political junkies to kick around....

Except in 2010 where they came out to be the second most biased. I'm not saying they're definitely wrong, but so far I see them as leaning to the right this election as much as PPP for instance is leaning to the left. I expect the true numbers to be somewhere in the middle.

Since democrats run the poll that really surprises me.......Do you have any proof they were the 2nd most bias?

I'm not one to dismiss the polls. I've heard people say "well, nobody ever polled me so they can't be trusted" etc. over the years. I think the polls are usually pretty close except on election day whatever the polls predicted tend to under-estimate democrat support by 1% to 3% (exit polls excluded). Regional and state polls aren't as accurate as national polls. Rasmussen polls tend to over estimate Republican support.

In any event, this year is going to be close and will come down to the swing states especially Florida and Ohio. As we get closer I think we'll have a better picture of things especially after the conventions. But right now if you ask me Romney needs to win VA, NC, FL and OH to get elected. All Obama has to win is 1 of those 4. Right now he's ahead in all of them except NC. We'll see.

It has nothing to do with his lean, but how they do the poll search.

If a polling agency polls mostly one side then it is obvious that the results will favor that side.......

His lean isn't the problem with his results. The problem people have with him is the way he does the polling.

Yay! Under half of registered voters, which is half of eligible voters, choose Romney. Thanks system for deciding crappy Presidents on less than a 1/4 of the voting population.

Why is everything about race with you?

Polling this far from the election, before the conventions and debates, is meaningless.

I haven't seen a poll yet that shows how many Democrats and how many Republicans would vote in a poll.

No, he has not caught up. He still trails Obama by several points in composite polls. But he has made up a few points since he locked up the nomination.

Playing the race card huh?

You lefties will never like a poll with Romney leasing.....Get use to it.:applaud

Just like you will not like a poll with Obama in the lead.

Navy the point is, is that its to early to judge the election on polls right now without any debates, or the heat of the election.

Playing the race card huh?

Sorry, but I have to defend Navy Pride on this one. The statement about white voters is not from him, but from his link. Remember, according to the rules, we are supposed to post a clip from the article in the OP. So, based on what I just said, there is no evidence that NP meant to play the race card.

I know that it is probably going to be hard for you to believe, but brace yourself NP.....It will take a lot more than the white male vote to get elected....good luck there Navy. In today's changing demographic, the white male vote is become less and less important. I know you don't like it, but the world is changing....
