Romney/RNC out raised Obama/DNC in May

The thing will be decided not by how much $$$ the candidates collect, but by the black $$$ in the SuperPacs. The cash is pouring into the right's, from 16 Billionairs & undisclosed (perhaps Americans) others who want to buy the Government. :peace

It's shameful that we will choose our leaders by which one can be bought for more money than the other one. Talk about bought and paid for politics. Whomever wins is already in somebody's pocket. The only difference may be who gets paid off and who doesn't. I see many corporations donate heavily to both sides as an insurance policy.

Well Cat, it seems to me that the Romney-Bot's work history is of a person who makes $$$$ for investors using leveraged buyouts, bankruptcy's & no regard for workers, eating pensions requiring Taxpayer intervention. Bottom line, making $$$ for investers, What's not to like for Wall St. :peace

True, but having a choice between one that is receiving funds from Wall Street 5 to 1 over the other, I will go for the one Wall Street likes less.

But that's just me.

Why not use 1939, which was big tax increases and big military spending increases?

Are you referring to the year after the recession of 1937-1938, which was caused by the government pulling back spending during the Great Depression recovery?

And are you seriously coming out in opposition to pre-WWII military spending?

Nothing compared to the debt under Reagan due to big tax cuts and bigger military spending. Reagan created more debt than all the presidents before him.

Reagan added to the national debt in 8 yrs 1.75 trillion, Obama will have raised the national debt in just 4 yrs 6 trillion. Further Obama has raised the national debt more than any president before in just 4 yrs then any president in 8.

Our GDP is comparably bigger as well, but the president has not created as much debt as all presidents before him. Reagan holds that record still.

You're cherry-picking the facts (but hey, at least you're USING facts). The driver of the debt is the deficit, and THAT'S what really counts. Reagan skyrocketed it. Obama has stabilized it. And don't forget who obliterated the Clinton surplus.
