Top Astrologers: Obama Will Win

Find the error in the following statement - one that was posted by me.

You neglected to consider the force exerted on said baby by the sun and the Earth. The moon also exerts more force on the baby than an airplane would. Those are certainties.

Now I'd have to do some calculations to determine if any of the other planets in the solar system exert greater force on the baby than a 747 flying overhead would, and I'm feeling too lazy at the moment to look up all the masses and distances necessary for those equations, but the important thing to note is that astrology is still a bunch of bull****.

But it's astrology, not tarot cards. I think astrology is probably a lot more complicated. I have tried to learn to read tarot cards on my own... lol

There is nothing complicated about astrology. It's all bunk. BTW, due to a phenomenon called precesson of the equinox, all the astrological signs have shifted one place since astrology was invented, but astrological charts don't reflect that fact..... More proof that there is NO science whatsoever behind astrology. It's just some crap that was made up by a bunch of fools.... 'Ya know, kinda like global warming skeptics.

Like Nancy Reagan?

Ronnie too - at least according to some anonymous wingnut on the internets

Astrology and the "Presidential Death Cycle"

The passing of President Reagan on June 5, 2004, coincided with a rare astronomical and astrological event called the "Transit of Venus" which astrologers believe may be of great significance for humanity in the near future. It is common knowledge that the Reagan Presidency relied heavily on astrology in the making of important decisions in the White House. The Reagan's deference to astrology may have spared President Reagan from dying in the assassination attempt on his life in 1981 and the so-called "Presidential Death Cycle." This is the 20-year cycle that culminates in a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn which is believed by astrologers to be partly responsible for the assassination, or death while in office, of every U.S. President since William Harrison. See the chart below.

from Wiki's Nancy Reagan article
Always protective of her husband, more controversy ensued when it was revealed in 1988 that she had consulted an astrologer to assist in planning the president's schedule after the 1981 assassination attempt on her husband.

Well, not all of it. The fundamental premise of astrology is that you can predict events on earth by watching the stars. To prove this assertion, it is only necessary to ask how you set your watch. Or when Easter will occur (on the western calendar).

That said, I would agree that daily horoscopes and the like are nonsense, a superstitious and unreasonable extrapolation of a valid concept. Sort of like the AGW hype over CO2.

Oh yeah - one has tons of data to support its contentions and the other is superstitious nonsense supported by the gullible and denied by those who think they know what they are commenting on - and one has been around for a couple thousand years with still nothing to support it.

I saw one of the astrologers on TV and she said Romney will do well until October, something will happen and he won't recover.
Oooh. "Something" will happen. How telling.

This type of stuff facinates me
Really? Would you mind enlightening me as to how it fascinates you that worthless predictions are based on the position of the planets based on an arbitrary demarcation ofth e
sky? This is not to imply you're a moron for believing such things. I'm sure you came to the conclusion astrology is a valid science based on evidence and reason and statistical figures that show astrologers have a better track record at predicting future events than a monkey and a dart board.

I'm just curious as to what that evidence was because, to my knowledge, it not only doesn't exist, but there's plenty of evidence to the contrary.

Well that's it. Might as well stay home. Looks like it's all decided. :2razz:

Um....

No offense, but I put about as much stock in astrologers and psychics as I do in Groundhog Day.... less actually. ;)

Meh, we'll all be dead in December anyway.

Astrologers? Seriously?
