Obama: ‘Corporations aren’t people’

Not with regards to campaign financing it sure seems we don't.

So...whats a newspaper? Is it an organization? For all intents and purposes, you want to close off corporations from political donations and political participation but want to leave unions and other organizations able to influence things. That looks discriminatory to me. Are you being a corporate bigot?

A corporation is and has always been about and made up of people. I know that's confusing to you...
It doesn't represent anybody but a few major stockholders, who can also buy legislation on their own. So we should eliminate private campaign finance altogether. It's a privilege too easily open to abuse.

Look at you making assumptions about my position. I never said I think corporations should be cut out and unions should stay in. Never said it and it's not my position.

As the Mets are ultimately a corporation, then yes, it is a "person."

The argument about corporations and voting/dying/getting sick/etc. is just a straw man. People aren't arguing that a "corporate entity" is 100% equivalent to a "human being." However, corporations are owned and run by people. Corporations get revenue from people, and pay out profits to people. If you raise taxes on corporations, you are ultimately raising taxes on people. Obama's point that you can divorce corporations and people is naive.

I respectfully disagree.

It can represent millions of stockholders.

You made the charge about buying legislation, with no support for this claim, but it has been Brack Obama who has received the most contributions from Wall Street, most in history. and also the one who was the most active in Wall Street. It's hard to believe how either the left, middle, or the right can support this obviously corrupt character.

A corporation represents itself, it's employees, and to it's major and minor stock holders --- as well as it's customers.

Eliminating private campaign finance or laws supporting such, is a different topic.
