GOP Newsletter Calls for Armed Revolution if Obama Re-Elected

I hesitate posting this here, worried I may be putting ideas in some heads.... Nevertheless, I think it important to expose extreme elements so that they may be watched, ridiculed, shamed, and arrested if necessary.

The Greene County, Virginia Republican Committee publishes a monthly newsletter for members called “The Constitutional Conservatives.” The newsletter is heavy on Tea Party rhetoric about how Obama and liberals are ruining America, and so forth. But even by these standards, an item in the March newsletter stands out.

In the “Whitehouse Watchdog” column, editor Ponch McPhee says that American cannot survive four more years under Obama, a “political socialist ideologue” who is “unlike anything world history has ever witnessed or recognized.” McPhee argues that Americans will have no option “but armed revolution should we fail with the power of the vote in November:”

The ultimate task for the people is to remain vigilant and aware ~ that the government, their government is out of control, and this moment, this opportunity, must not be forsaken, must not escape us, for we shall not have any coarse but armed revolution should we fail with the power of the vote in November ~ This Republic cannot survive for 4 more years underneath this political socialist ideologue.

Hmm this is treason no?

Hmm this is treason no?

Nope. Thankfully. It's over the top rhetoric, but it does not meet the qualifications of treason as laid out in the US Constitution.

What it should do is to show some people that there is a growing discontent with the way the US Government runs and that people are starting to realize that voing may not be the best, or even the only way to deal with that.

sounds like ponch will soon be explaining his "coarse" of action to the FBI.

Yeah, they might have some coarse words about the "coarse" he is on.

And this guy is the editor? Sheesh!

If discontent for the government would be the reason for violent uprising against the US government the Bush government would have been violently overthrown. For changing governments the only way to go forward is through the power of the vote. People who resort to violence are triators to the premise of democracy.

LOL. The Leftists in this country are too cowardly to do any such thing. Just look at OWS as the proof of that.

Remember, the United States was formed from Blood, not Ballots and our founding documents reserve the right of the People to do so again. It's been tried once already and I have no doubt will happen again, possibly in my lifetime. We're not Europeans. We can actually do something without taking a vote on it and seeing which way the wind blows.

You mean are too decent or too evolved to do that kind of thing ;).

The US was formed in blood in a period where there was no democracy and I doubt the founding fathers would agree with a few malcontents taking up arms against their own government because they could not win elections.

It is a sad thing to read that people think the way of the gun is better than the way of the vote, with that attitude you betray millions of US soldiers who have died fighting inhumane undemocratic government to restore law order and democracy.

As opposed to those brave souls saying stupid, outrageous things anonymously on an internet message board. They are so brave...

reminds me of a RAMONES song (53rd and 3rd)

If you think you can
welll come on man
I was a Green Beret in Viet Nam
no more of your fairy stories
'cause I got my other worries

Okay, I went the the "RightWingWatch" web page and tried to open the “Whitehouse Watchdog” column and the "McPhee argues", where the statements were taken from, but to no avail.

And yet, what we hear is that the Tea Party is non-violent and OWS is so violent. Are you saying the TP are Leftists? (good luck to you if you are).

I saw this outside of here, but I was on my phone and couldn't figure out how to post it.

In the end, he did use the disclaimer that it's just his opinion, not the GOP's, which is fine. It worries me that Republicans want someone who advocates armed revolution over election results in any kind of official capacity.

This guy's ODS is over the top.

The editors and idiot and if they're smart they give him the boot. There's no need at all for that kind of rhetoric at this point in this country. The need for armed revolt, imho, is unneeded until such a point that an individual declares themselves the head of state for life OR there is clear evidence of systematic corruption leading to prolonged controlled. Neither are even close to present.

That said...it's hillarious watching someone try to make a big deal out of this. A random guy, in a random COUNTY newsletter, says something stupid but we must present it as a "GOP Newsletter" so it seems and appears to people on first glance that it's some prominent thing. Greene County is the 83rd largest county and/or city in Virginia, out of 136. The farther down the scope of things you go the natural inclination is that you increase the likelihood of finding extreme individuals. Whlie what he said is stupid, it's not surprising that in some pissant random county there was some crazy guy that had a voice.

if the editor wants- to Voice His Opinion _ He Has that right_ as long as it is just Opinion_ but don"t hide your opinion behind the GOP_ to warrant receiving top headlines to do So' IMO.

this thread needs to be in conspiracy or the basement..

so its not proven and must be conspiracy.

I know... we need heros like the Occupy Stupidity Movement..those goons know how to act like criminals...

Course, most guys who love the 'blood and guts' songs have seen neither, certainly not theirs or their buddies.

Oklahoma doesn't lack for rabble rousers of the 'conservative' bend. What I have determined is the idea is already there, the hate/fear in abundance, what is lacking is calcium in the spine and iron in the blood.

Thinking it is going to be a rough election cycle...

No, it was proven. It was a GOP newsletter.

Hardly anyone is saying that it's the official position of the GOP to overthrow the government, rather that this guy is stupid.

If you want to complain about your Odinga conspiracy thread being sent to the conspiracy theory forum, there's something in the basement called "Where's My Binky."

According to Tigger, OWS is too soft and we need a right wing revolt. So I'm confused, are they violent thugs hellbent on destroying America, or are they giant ******s?

Was that guy a Democratic party official of any kind? Was that an official publication of the Democratic party?

Was the guy in question here speaking for the Republican Party?

And Rall has been regularly published in Time, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Fortune -- does he speak for those publications?
