Romney taking credit for auto industry success

Ah, the idea of the managed bankruptcy was his, therefore, it's all him.

So far we've got: Romney really saved the auto industry and Obama single-handedly killed Osama bin Laden. So we're even right now.

It´s a good thing all those Republicans who were peeved about Obama ¨taking credit¨for killing Osama will step up and attack this blatantly bull**** stance by Romney. If they didn´t, I may just lose faith in the intelligence of the American right wing.

Isnt it hilarioius...I laughed like hell when I read the statement he made...

I must have missed it somewhere, but exactly when and how did he offer this advice?

Tell me about it...

Romney makes up a lie about Obama taking credit for Bin Laden, then takes credit for... the auto bail out?!! Which he's supposed to be against (when addressing Teabagger states)....

The Gop is just f-ing with the Obama campaign at this point. They take Romney's weaknesses and transplant them on Obama. And MSM is letting them get away with it. So much for the "liberal" media lie.

Open mouth, insert foot.

Obama hasn't had a lot of succeses (IMHO) but the auto bailout was a definite winner (and had historical precedent) that saved thousands of jobs and reduced autoworkers pay to the same crappy pay the rest of us get :)

When you have an election coming up against an incumbent, it becomes complete silly season. Expect far dumber things to be broadcast on both sides.

First Gore invented the Internet, Obama shot Osama and now Romney saved the auto-industry!

Thank God for politicians!

That is hilarious! What obama does deserve credit for, they take for themselves. But I couldve sworn I hear him say that he opposed the bailout and government intervention? Or maybe that was another of the 'conservative' drones

Make no mistake, Mitt Romney has balls.

Hey, this is the same political machine that turned a legitimate war hero into a fraud and a legitimate draft dodger into a war hero. A good lie and Faux News and you can have the uneducated electorate believing the unbelieveable.

Let's go back a step. For the past six months, Romney has been feeding us the bull**** line that he's a conservative. He says this after raising taxes in Massachusetts. He says this after enacting anti-gun legislation in Massachusetts. He says this after creating RomneyCare.

There are a lot of conservatives like myself who don't believe a word he says.

All of you at DP might not know this, but I'm responsible for the song Stairway to Heaven.

I was not in Led Zep, I didn't write the music or lyrics, but I once suggested that an epic rock song we all know and like would be really cool. With slow parts and fast parts and great guitar solo.

So, I take credit for Stairway to Heaven.

If you have a brain you shouldn't believe a word he says.

Romney donated a large sum of money to Planned Parenthood to get an endorsement as Governor. The same man now wants to shut down all funding for it.
Romney pushed gun control laws in MA. Now he's allegedly a hardcore gun rights activist.

Newt is 100% right that if Romney could buy the presidency, he would.

Mitt is not a liberal, a conservative or a moderate for the simple reason that mitt is inherently nothing.

Thank you. I love that song.

You are not kidding! Any politician who takes credit for the auto industry to become a shell of what it used to be, relieve all its debt so that it gets to claim profit on any POS sold, overpriced under performing autos that most people cannot afford, and the ones who do end up having to have them constantly sent back for recalls.... Yippee, they sell about half as many as they used to, they employ half as many people as they used to... car dealerships are not anywhere near as busy, and many have closed shop. Many foreign cars still outsell U.S. cars... It takes balls (certainly not brains) to claim credit for auto industry success....

let's be fair
thus far i have seen no post identify the person who is actually responsible for infusing critically needed cash required to salvage GM:
in the fall of 2008, despite two years of steep cutbacks, G.M. found itself on the brink, reduced to begging the federal government for the cash it needed to stay afloat. That December, it received $9 billion in federal aid at the order of President George W. Bush. In March 2009, President Obama forced out G.M.’s chief executive, Rick Wagoner, rejected the company’s restructuring plan and forced it into bankruptcy court after its creditors balked at deep write-downs.
[emphasis added by bubba] General Motors (GM) - Company Information - The New York Times

now, while the shrub funded the bailout, he placed no criteria on what was expected, in return, by GM
Obama is rightfully credited with orchestrating the approach GM was compelled to take as a condition of using those funds
nowhere do we see romney offering sound advice in real time. but as a monday morning quarterback, he has been exceptional
this is a classic take by jon stewart/daily show on romney's lying to take credit for the GM turnaround:

LOL - that does make me wonder though; why hasn't Obama mentioned at all the C4C experiment? :D

Already said my piece in the other thread. It's idiotic and he should smack himself. If he wants to say he deserves credit for having an idea that ended up being similar to what worked, that's one thing and something that undoubtably tens of thousands of Americans could say who randomly gave their opinion on the issue and as such is somewhat of a worthless statement. But to take credit for the actual success of their revival? Idiotic. Unless those in the white house who took the actions they ultimately took did so because of the advise or words of Mitt Romney, he is no more to credit for it than anyone else spouting their opinion. More so, the credit for the success of the companies that have managed to go through again should be given most to those who are actually doing the revival rather than whoever came up with the idea. The guys at the top coming up with the business strategies and putting the people in place, the mid level management that is overseeing the day to day operations and getting things going, and the workers that have stuck with it and perserveered to put out products. Those people are the ones who deserve most of the Credit...definitely not Mitt Romney.

The poster who made the comment about Gore, Obama, and Romney had me cracking up. Every politician seems to have to make what hand they had in something to appear like it's the most important damn thing involved and almost every time it's idiotic of them to do.

Which makes you wonder why the republicans nominated him. you would think romneycare alone would be a disqualification.

In fairness, he's officially not taking credit for that....

Should we consider Romney as having "George Costanza Syndrome"? Whatever is right must be wrong, etc.? :lamo
he's not that 'deep'
