Republican National Committee used Philippines firm to set up call blasting Obama on unemployment. UPDATES - Lynn Sweet

[h=1]When I called in for the conference call, I asked where the operator I talked to was based and was told Manila.[/h]

Seriously... did the GOP hire the dumbest and least educated election people on the planet to run their campaign?

They attack Obama on jobs by using a company (Verizon) who's call centre is based overseas.. brilliant own goal!

And then in an attempt to save face, they claim that Obama has links to Verizon too...instead of say that this is an example of what not too do.. not that people will believe them... they screwed up again... admit it!

And it is not the first time they score an own goal lately...

In all fairness to them Pete...they probably couldnt find a freakin call center in the USA....

I think you are most likely right.

The best call centers out of the USA are canadian...my cable co tech support is in canada....Im hard of hearing...I just hang up on most call centers...I cant understand a word they are saying

Gosh, I have seen the light Pete. Hearing it from an unbiased source like you just turns me around completely. Go Obama!

LAUGHING, excellent attempt at deflection! Back on the topic, seems the Republicans are just throwing anything they can reach against the wall to see if it sticks, never mind they do the same thing!

FYI, google usa call centers and be amazed...

But still what?

They hired Verizon out... that unamerican company "Verizon"... not them... only the largest and most reliable phone company in the country... Why would they ever chose them...

I always love when people that are liberal try to make comments about what the "GOP" does, as if they agree on ideology with them, so they could have any incite into what people in the "GOP" are in favor of...

I'm reading more and more that among likely voters, this is starting to shape up as a relative landslide victory for Romney. Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri.......appear to be going to Romney more heavily by the day.

Are there any call centers in the USA? Most of them have been outsourced beyond our borders... Why give a job to a citizen of the USA when you someone in another country and not pay the employees as much. Our country is going to hell in a hand basket.

romney hasn't even picked a running mate yet, nor have they had any debates and it "appears" to you that it will be a landslide victory for Romeny?

Care to place a bet on that? All the other Cons have run away from that bet.

You want employers to pay more money to someone just because he's an American? That's not how the business world operates. That's not how companies grow and prosper. You hire the cheapest labor you can find to produce the lowest quality product or service that consumers will buy. If you can pay an Indian $2 an hour to work tech support, why pay an American quadruple that amount for the same worthless advice? Either way, you'll be stuck listening to Twilight Zone music for 20 minutes, only to be told that you can supposedly fix everything by unplugging and re-plugging, or failing that, restoring to factory contents with a hard reset.

And Romney hasn't even accepted the nomination yet! Add this to his propensity for saying the wrong things...

We are going to have an entertaining Fall I believe.

Right you are! People can have their pay-per-view sports, the biggest and best show in town is going to be the match between the 1% and the 99% this fall!

Does anybody see something wrong here?

Personally, I can't imagine that Romney has even the slightest chance of winning but hey, I've been wrong before. But look at it this way. Right in this thread is the answer:

With 307 million people, and fewer jobs that Americans can compete for, don't expect those Happy Days to be here again. As more and more Americans make less and less money, who do you think they will vote for? The Socialistic guy who will give them eternal unemployment checks or the hard-ass guy that likes to fire people while giving tax cuts to his friends?

To me, no matter who wins, we lose. But that's another topic. Obama shares closed at $5.98/$10.00 on Intrade today. Just saying....

The blue collar workers better get used to it. If you union and blue collar workers aren't willing to accept 30 to 40 percent pay cuts, we'll move your job to China.

There are still many things made in the USA more efficiently than anywhere else and there will always be millions of jobs than aren't plausible to outsource. So, those with skills and/or a good education will always be employed, and somewhat well paid. For the not so skilled, those days of routine labor work are pretty much over with. We'll never see low unemployment again but that doesn't mean that the USA will fail. It will be very different though....

Or they will be out on the street and maybe you or your family will be victims to the increased crime rate. Better get used to it.

Wow! I had a long day at the office and didn't pay attention to the news. It seems that we have legalized hallucinogens. Michigan? PA? Wisconsin? I don't think so... nor does RCP.

For those folks that deal in reality, there isn't even a hint at a landslide one way or another... and Romney has some serious, serious work to do if he wants to even eek out a victory.

Feel free to deal in facts at your leisure....

Its statements like that...that will assure soon the far right gets slapped around just like they deserve to....they should take 30 to 40% pay cuts so the pigs at the trough that KNOW NO LIMITS can have more.....know what send ALL the jobs to china...then the 98% will just take what all the pigs stole from them...statements like that piss me off...

BUT, they still need consumers.....no USA jobs, no USA consumers.....

On the day "Erod" made that comment, the only national poll published for May 08/2012 shows Obama leading by +7.

An Ohio poll published on the same day also showed Obama up by +7, so where is "Erod" getting his so-called information that things are "starting to shape up as a relative landslide victory for Romney?"
